Zach Parise and Ryan Suter will be playing for the Minnesota Wild next year.

According to ESPN, both Parise and Suter agreed to contracts worth more than $98 million over 13 years.

General manager Chuck Fletcher said:

“This is a great day in the history of the Minnesota Wild. We are extremely excited to add the collective skill, experience and character of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to an already promising roster. We view this as a rare opportunity for us to transform our franchise by adding two marquee players, who are both in the prime of their careers.”

Parise, a native of Minneapolis, has scored 194 goals during his 502 career games. Last season he tallied 31 goals and 38 assists to help the New Jersey Devils reach the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Suter, who played his first 7 seasons with the Nashville Predators, has 200 assists so far in his career.

Fletcher added:

“I am grateful to Zach and Ryan… This is a huge step forward in our quest to bring a Stanley Cup to the deserving fans of the State of Hockey.”

USA Today reports that Suter and Parise, who were both members of the 2003 draft class, talked to each other behind the scenes about playing together.
