Iggy Azalea Posts New Song ‘Azillion,’ Fans Clamor For Rest Of ‘Digital Distortion’

Iggy Azalea dropped her newest song last night, and it has many of her fans feeling like they are truly one in “Azillion.”

According to MTV, Azalea, the 25-year-old Autralian star singer of the award-winning hit track “Fancy,” dropped her new full-length jingle on Soundcloud before she went to bed last night at around 11 p.m. E.S.T. (10 p.m. C.S.T.). The song is Azalea’s first (un)official release for Digital Distortion, which is just the third album of her still-young career.

According to Azalea herself, “Azillion” is dedicated to her “Ratz,” and deals with some of the greedy, money-hungry aspects of humanity, seemingly trying to send the message that there are many, far more important things in life than being rich.

“Money got us fickle think I want to spend it all,” sings Azalea in her first major release since “Fancy.” She continues,

Heading for a zillion / Thumbing through a billion / Gotta keep it trillion / What is a million? / Heading for a zillion / Thumbing through a billion / Gotta keep it trillion / What is a million? / What is a million?

“Azillion” was produced by D.R.U.G.S. as part of Azalea’s soon-to-be-released, tentatively titled Digital Distortion. According to Hollywood Life, Azalea has been teasing the Soundcloud preview release to her fans since January 2. It was on that date, the news outlet reported, that the controversial Azalea Tweeted her plans to offer a number of song previews prior to the full rollout of Digital Distortion.

“im gonna play it casual with the buzz tracks and just let you know a few hours before,” wrote Iggy Azalea earlier this year. “real singles ill give dates in advance.”

“Azillion” is the first of several to-be-released tracks from Digital Distortion; Iggy Azalea told fans that she would share a number of new album cuts and full singles prior to the L.P.’s full release.

According to MTV, neither Azalea nor D.R.U.G.S. has indicated any sort of official release date for Digital Distortion or any of its tracks. MTV did note, however, that the album would become available “most likely [when] the first proper single [officially drops].” Hollywood Life, meanwhile, is reporting that the full album could be released as soon as this Thursday, January 14.

For what it’s worth, Iggy Azalea’s fiance — and Los Angeles Lakers star shooting guard and small forward — Nick Young told Billboard Magazine that Digital Distortion will be “the best album of 2016.”

“It’s going to blow up,” said Young in the interview. “I see how hard she [has been working] in the studio and I heard a couple of the songs. [There will be a] couple [of] surprises and a lot of features on there. It’ll be dope.” It should, of course, be noted that Young also has a small feature on the album.

Despite his flowery words for Azalea’s dedication to her craft, however, Young, has been less than complimentary of her wedding-planning tact since the young couple got engaged last year, as documented by the Inquisitr.

On the lighter side, MTV‘s Patrick Hosken noted that this potential week-long delay in the release of Digital Distortion does give Iggy Azalea a small bit more time for “planning for when things go awry at her live shows, as they sometimes do.”
