Although games like The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 made 2015 another great year for video game enthusiasts, 2016 is expected to be even better. While we’re only a good week into the year, companies are already gearing up for the latest releases. With that in mind, here is a quick look at 15 of the most anticipated games of 2016.

XCOM 2

Despite losing to the aliens in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the follow-up to the hit 2012 game offers gamers an opportunity for redemption. According to Yahoo Tech, this time the battles with be harder and more strategic with full customizing ability.

Street Fighter V

The classic fighter game returns in a big way with its fifth rendition. The game features brand new fighting styles and the ability of users to actually fight each other online.

Far Cry Primal

This latest installment of the Far Cry series sends gamers back even further in time. In fact, users will be pitted against giant mammoths and unhappy mastodons as they traverse a stone-age world. With only clubs and stone based weapons to battle it out, Primal is expected to be a big hit for 2016.

Tom Clancy’s The Division

In the latest edition from the hit franchise, users are faced with a virus on the verge of tearing the U.S. apart. The mission is to keep the peace in a lawless New York. This game includes loads of combat based fun and strategic missions, setting itself to be one of the better shooting games of 2016.

Quantum Break

Despite multiple delays since its initial announcement in 2013, fans will finally get the chance to play this time-warping shooter. In addition to its live-action content, the game contains an intricately built world, making it one of the most ambitious games of the year.

ReCore

According to Nerd Much, ReCore promises to be one of the better looking games of 2016. The game follows Jewel and her robot friend, Mack, who are tasked with finding a way to bring humans back to earth. The only problem is that they have to get through an army of robots to accomplish their mission.

Doom

Although the new Doom has been in the works for a while, fans will finally get the opportunity to play the game this year. Given its history of successful games, this new rendition should satisfy all Doom fans with new and improved gameplay.

Unchartered 4: A Thief’s End

This exciting action-adventure experience builds off the events in Unchartered 3. Nathan Drake will be at it again and enlists the help of his brother Sam to go after a long lost treasure in a pirate colony.

No Man’s Sky
