Senate Candidate Dressing In Drag Coming Back To Haunt Him [Photo]

Josh Mandel is Ohio’s state treasurer and a GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate, but he has a secret. Do you ever have one of those moments in life where you think “I hope this doesn’t come back to haunt me!”. Mandel is experiencing one of those right now. The Senate candidate had a picture of himself taken while he was dressed in drag placed in his high school yearbook. I am sure he didn’t think he would be a candidate for U.S. Senate when it came back to haunt him.

An Ohio source, which couldn’t be tied to his political opponents, passed a photo from Mandel’s 1996 yearbook at Beachwood High School. In the photo Mandel and some of his friends are seductively lifting weights in the weight room all dressed as women. Mandel is the one in the photo wearing a brown wig, a stuffed bra and skimpy biker shorts. the photo didn’t have any captions or explanations.

Josh Mandel’s communications director Travis Considine was asked about the context of the photo and why they were dressed like that to begin with and he replied,

“Josh didn’t remember it, but it looks like he was joking around for a gag photo in his high school yearbook. Humor has always been an important part of his personality, especially when he used it to keep up morale among his Marines in Iraq. He also thinks it’s important to have a spotter when you’re doing lat pull downs.”

Mandel is taking on Senator Sherrod Brown this coming November. Conservative groups have already pumped more than $9 million dollars into the race because voter turnout will not only help them defeat Brown but will increase voter turnout for GOP candidate Mitt Romney.

In the photo below Mandel is the one in the brown wig in the back.
