My favourite is when a Marine squad had to flown somewhere, airport security took their nail clippers and firstaid kits "in case they were used to hold up the plane". But made them keep their rifles and ammo with them because it was illegal to ship them in storage/luggage (dangerous goods). real case of "What the…"

I'm pretty sure that's a fake story. And also, the reason you're not allowed to carry in liquids is because they might secretly be flammable. Like if I took a bottle of water and filled it with gasoline instead. I'm not sure why anyone would do that, but I suspect it's also an excuse to make you have to buy water from the airport itself. So they make more money.
