Molly O’Malia: Inappropriate Contact With 14-Year-Old Model Could Lead To Huge Legal Trouble For Rapper Tyga

Molly O’Malia is a 14-year-old model who was largely unheard of before this week, but the Instagram star is embroiled in a scandal that could lead to huge legal trouble for rapper Tyga.

The 25-year-old Tyga, perhaps best known as the longtime boyfriend of 18-year-old reality television star Kylie Jenner, was reportedly sending inappropriate text messages to the underage O’Malia.

OK! magazine ran a story about the contact between the two, and ran a pixelated picture of Molly O’Malia on the cover saying she had an “inappropriate sexually suggestive relationship” with the rapper. At least that’s according to Molly’s lawyer, the powerful and very media savvy Gloria Allred.

During a press conference, Molly O’Malia claimed that Tyga initiated contact with her, and that she stopped communicating after he suggested they meet in person.

“The truth is that Tyga contacted me first. He direct messaged me on Instagram. I knew who he was but I was surprised that he was contacting me,” she said in a statement (via the Daily Beast). “I thought that it could possibly be about my music, but he did not mention that in his initial communication with me. I thought that was strange, but I was thinking he would bring that up in his next message to me. However, he didn’t mention it in the next message.”

O’Malia said Tyga requested three times that they communicate by FaceTime, but she was uncomfortable with the idea of it.

The revelation was a major blow to Tyga, who has already faced widespread criticism for his relationship with Kylie Jenner. Though the two have reportedly split, Tyga was under fire for dating Kylie when she was still underage, appearing in a number of risqué pictures and video clips that Kylie posted online.

There have been rumors of even more controversial videos, with talk that Tyga and Kylie Jenner had a collection of sex tapes that they were considering selling. There were reports of six- and even seven-figure offers from adult film distribution companies, though those reports were never verified and nothing has ever come of it.

Now many are going after Tyga again, including the Daily Beast which called him a “predator.”

“This isn’t nothing, however. If true, this shows that Tyga is a predator with considerable means and influence who targets underage girls, just as he did with a teenage Kylie Jenner. And the public—and tabloid media—shouldn’t laugh off this despicable behavior any longer. It’s this lack of seriousness and accountability that’s allowed a demon like R. Kelly to continue to flourish, despite the countless young girls he’s left violated and forgotten.”

There could be more legal trouble for Tyga as well. Philly.com said it’s likely that Molly O’Malia, with Gloria Allred in her camp, could likely be paving the way for legal action against the rapper. Allred also railed against OK! magazine for poorly pixelating O’Malia’s face, which she said made the 14-year-old easily identifiable.

Allred also noted that OK! incorrectly asserted that the two were “hooking up,” which she called a lie painting Molly “in a completely false light.”

While there could be big legal trouble for Tyga after his communication with Molly O’Malia was exposed, there is nothing on the horizon yet. Allred has not filed a lawsuit and made no mention of specific legal action.
