Michael Moore Calls For Arrest Of Michigan’s Gov. Rick Snyder Over Flint Water Poisonings

Famous activist Micheal Moore is calling for the arrest of Michigan’s governor, Rick Snyder, in relation to the Flint water crisis. The State of Michigan declared on Tuesday via the state website that Gov. Snyder declared a state of emergency for Genesee County, Michigan due to the ongoing health and safety dangers that have been caused by lead in Flint’s drinking water.

Politicus USA, a liberal online magazine, mocked Gov. Snyder’s actions in an article on Thursday entitled, “Michigan Governor Rick Snyder Poisons Flint Kids And Then Declares An Emergency.”

“Because Snyder has known the drinking water supply was toxic for at least a year, it is certain he would have let it continue unabated without federal environmental, justice, and health agencies getting involved. However, now that the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Justice are in the initial stages of a serious investigation, Snyder is acting as his previous corporate tyranny agenda is some kind of ‘an innocent accident‘ threatening the lives of Michigan residents; now and in the future.”

Micheal Moore is a little more direct. Moore wrote an open letter on Facebook directly to Rick Snyder when accusing him of poisoning the children of Flint, Michigan. He used the hashtag: #?ArrestGovSnyder?.

“Thanks to you, sir, and the premeditated actions of your administrators, you have effectively poisoned, not just some, but apparently ALL of the children in my hometown of Flint, Michigan.

“And for that, you have to go to jail.

“To poison all the children in an historic American city is no small feat. Even international terrorist organizations haven’t figured out yet how to do something on a magnitude like this.”

Moore accuses Snyder’s staff of knowing that the water in the Flint River was poisoned. Recent emails obtained through a FIOA request even seem to indicate that staff members were aware long before they admitted that Flint’s water was giving children lead poisoning. Michael Moore claims that Snyder knowingly chose to cut the people of Flint off from the fresh glacial lake water of Lake Huron and made them unknowingly “drink water from the industrial cesspool we call the Flint River — a body of ‘water’ where toxins from a dozen General Motors and DuPont factories have been dumped for over a hundred years.”

Moore says that in order to make the water usable, Snyder’s administration added a chemical to clean the water that was so strong it stripped the lead off of Flint’s old water pipes, which then went “straight into people’s taps.”

“Here’s how bad it is: Even GM won’t let the auto parts they use in building cars touch the Flint water because that water ‘corrodes’ them. This is a company that won’t even fix an ignition switch after they’ve discovered it’s already killed dozens of people. THAT’s how bad the situation is. Even GM thinks you’re the devil.”

Moore, albeit condescendingly, gives Gov. Snyder a science lesson and explains that lead is toxic. He follows up the science lesson by directly accusing Rick Snyder of being a criminal.

“Like any real criminal, when you were confronted with the truth (by the EPA and other leading water experts across America), you denied what you did. Even worse, you decided to mock your accusers and their findings. As I said, I know you don’t like to believe in a lot of science (after all, you used to run Gateway Computers, and that, really, is all anyone needs to know about you), but this time the science has caught up with you — and this time, I hope, it’s going to convict you.”

Moore tells Snyder that if there is any justice left in America, by next year, Snyder will have no choice about what water he will be drinking, because the water will be served to Snyder from a tap inside Jackson Prison.

The federal prosecutor in Flint has opened up an investigation into all of the details of the Flint water fiasco, and Michael Moore tells Snyder that on the day the governor is “fitted with a bright orange jumpsuit,” the poor and minority communities of Michigan will cheer. Talk of arresting the governor isn’t limited to the fiery activist, though. On Friday, hundreds plan to March on city hall at dusk, according to an “event invitation” on Facebook calling the protest the Arrest Snyder Road Trip.

Michael Moore then urges everyone to sign a petition to Attorney General Lynch calling for the arrest of Gov. Rick Snyder.
