Sandy Hook ‘Truther’ James Tracy Fired From Florida Atlantic University

Sandy Hook “truther” professor James Tracy has been fired from Florida Atlantic University. The tenured instructor at the public university has been accused of harassing Newtown parents in the past and maintains the mass slaughter of 20 children and six staffers was nothing more than a hoax to push gun control legislation.

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) initiated the firing of professor James Tracy in December. The termination process of the Sandy Hook truther began after Veronique and Lenny Pozner wrote an op-ed in the Sun-Sentinel. The parents of a Newtown victim, Noah Pozner, 6, said Tracy has harassed them and shared photos of their son, the youngest victim to die that tragic day, on his conspiracy theory blog.

The Newtown parents maintain that James Tracy has harassed them by demanding that they prove they are truly Noah’s parents in order to foster the removal of the boy’s photo from the blog and to prove that the Sandy Hook mass shooting really happened.

Here’s an excerpt from the Pozner opinion piece published in the Florida newspaper.

“It’s been three years since we last embraced our precious little boy, Noah. At six-years-old, he was the youngest child murdered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School to our horror, we have found that there are some in this society who lack empathy for the suffering of others. Among them are the conspiracy theorists that deny our tragedy was real. They seek us out and accuse us of being government agents who are faking our grief and lying about our loss. Tracy even sent us a certified letter demanding proof that Noah once lived, that we were his parents, and that we were the rightful owner of his photographic image.”

The firing of the truther professor was not reportedly due to the contact with Sandy Hook parents but for failing to follow protocol and notify FAU about employment outside of the university. The open letter about the ongoing contact by the professor also called on Florida Atlantic University officials to fire Tracy. The parents of Noah Pozner filed a police complaint to report the alleged harassment by James Tracy.

A statement about the firing of professor James Tracy issued by FAU states that he was served with a notice of termination, and the effective date of the dismissal is January 8. In early December, the Sandy Hook truther was issued a notice of proposed discipline, MSN reports.

Professor Tracy was scheduled to teach three FAU classes during the spring semester, and the school had reportedly reassigned those instructional duties to other teachers.

The professor has not yet responded to the firing but has secured legal representation to fight the termination. In addition to hiring an attorney, the FAU professor has also reportedly been granted the assistance of the United Faculty of Florida group. Tracy has indicated that he will fight the firing on free speech grounds.

The professor James Tracy blog, Memory Hole, revolves around claims of conspiracy theories on a variety of mass shootings and terrors attacks. The FAU professor has previously been accused of working on his blog while utilizing school resources or possibly on school time, hence the outside employment violation noted in the termination notice. Some of the tragedies Tracy feels could have been nothing more than a hoax include the Boston Marathon bombing, the 9/11 terror attacks, and the San Bernardino terror attack.
