‘Days Of Our Lives’: Kate Mansi Speaks Out On Leaving Show

Days of Our Lives fans were shocked to learn that actress Kate Mansi is exiting the popular role of Abigail Deveraux. Rumors had been flying that Kate was leaving the NBC soap but were confirmed on Tuesday.

Now, Kate Mansi is speaking out about her decision to leave Days of Our Lives and what the show has meant to her since she debuted as Abigail Deveraux in March of 2011, a role previously held by Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson.

Kate Mani didn’t do an elaborate interview to announce her departure from Days of Our Lives. Instead, she decided to make a heartfelt statement via her Instagram page, where many of her fans follow her posts.

In the statement, Kate Mansi confirms that she has decided to leave the show and not renew her contract. She added that it was a very hard decision to make to leave her home at Days of Our Lives.

“I’ve kept quiet as long as I could, but since it seems news has leaked, I feel I owe it to you all to set the record straight. Alright… here it is: After much thought, I’ve decided the timing was right for me to set sail from Salem. I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every single beautiful and messy moment of being Abigail, and will always treasure our time together. I want to be very clear in saying that this was not a decision I took lightly. It was important for me to see Abigail through the most recent storyline, as well as through the show’s historic 50th anniversary celebration.”

Kate Mansi also claims that she had given her all to Days of Our Lives while holding the role of Abigail Deveraux, especially over the past year where it’s been a wild ride for Abby, learning that her fiance was a murderer and that Chad DiMera is actually the father of her newborn son, Thomas Jack Deveraux.

“I can confidently say that I poured everything I had into Abigail, especially this last year, and cannot wait for you to see what’s coming! I also want to express how very proud I am to have had the privilege of being a part of this incredibly hard-working daytime community for the past five years. I am grateful beyond measure to the DOOL family, which I feel extends beyond our set, to you, the amazing, and unwavering fans. I thank you for all the support and love you’ve shown Abigail and me.”

Before saying her goodbyes, Kate Mani then revealed that Days of Our Lives fans will not want to miss what is yet to come for her character, Abby, whom she’ll portray until around the month of May.

“Oh, and one more thing… STAY TUNED! I PROMISE you, you won’t want to miss what’s coming!”

Meanwhile, fans are dying to know if something will happen to Abigail to make her leave Salem, but they are really hoping they won’t see yet another death on Days of Our Lives. There’s a chance the role will be recast, as Chad and Abby are the hottest couple on the show as of right now. Besides, DOOL fans are tired of losing beloved characters like Will Horton, Bo Brady, Daniel Jonas, and soon to be Eric Brady.

However, with the departures are a few returns. Characters like Shawn Brady, Chloe Lane, and Melanie Jonas will be coming back to Days of Our Lives very soon to help fill the void left by the characters who have departed and are leaving currently.
