Amber Tamblyn & Blake Lively Reunite: The Bond Is Still Strong Between ‘Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants’ Co-Stars

It has been more than 10 years since the first The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie, but recent pictures posted by Amber Tamblyn and Blake Lively on Instagram prove that the bond is still strong between the co-stars.

On Monday, Blake Lively posted a picture of herself on Instagram, together with Amber Tamblyn. According to Entertainment Weekly, the two reunited to watch their friend America Ferrara’s new TV series, Superstore. Blake included the hashtag #SisterWivesOfTheTravelingPants, most likely referring to the fact that the two are now married — Blake to Ryan Reynolds and Amber to David Cross.

Amber, Blake, America, and Alexis formed a real bond while filming The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which is about a group of best friends (Tibby, Bridget, Carmen, and Lena) who are about to leave each other for the first time in their lives to pursue their own activities for the summer. While shopping, the four girls stumble upon a pair of pants that fit them all well, despite them having different body types. They then decide to share the pants and send them to each other through the course of the summer.

The 2005 movie was later followed by a sequel in 2008, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. The second movie focused on the girls’ lives after their high school graduation and before they went to college.

The bond between the four actresses went beyond the screen. As E Online reports, Amber, Blake, America, and Alexis have reunited several instances throughout the years.

Amber Tamblyn talked about double dating with her co-star America in an interview, saying that she and America would go out first and their dates would follow.

The foursome was also spotted last year sharing brunch together. Amber Tamblyn posted a picture of them together with the caption, “Brunch with my best b*****s #sisterhood.”

Monday night’s reunion to watch Superstore isn’t the first time the girls showed their support to one of their “sisters.” A year ago, when America starred in a theater production, Lips Together, Blake, Alexis, and Amber were there to watch her and even posted a picture with the caption, “Go America! Supporting our girl in her play.”

When Amber Tamblyn married David Cross in 2012, all her “sisters’ were in attendance. But before that, her three Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars surprised her with a bachelorette party in New Orleans. All the girls were also present when Blake Lively tied the knot with Ryan Reynolds in 2012. In addition, when Blake gave birth to her baby girl in 2014, she called her Sisterhood co-stars as her baby’s fairy godmothers.

“They’re my dear friends. I would say my baby has a lot of fairy godmothers.”

As the new year entered, Amber Tamblyn didn’t forget to greet her beloved girls. On Instagram, she posted throwback pictures of herself with Blake, America, and Alexis and greeted them a happy new year.

It isn’t confirmed that a third movie of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is happening, but America did say in an interview with People magazine in January 2015 that “it’s actually very much in the works.”

“We love each other, and we love this series, and we are so proud of the work that we did together that it would be wonderful to come back to do another one.”

Amber Tamblyn also hinted that a third movie is coming.

“I think in the spirit of the magical pants that there is something magical brewing.”
