North Korea Tests Hydrogen Bomb – May Edge Over U.S In The Nuclear War

The isolated country of North Korea, ruled under the dictatorship of idiosyncratic leader Kim Jong Un, have made claims through national televisions that it has successfully tested the detonation of a Hydrogen Bomb.

“The republic’s first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10:00 am on January 6, 2016, based on the strategic determination of the Workers’ Party,” a state television news reader said in a surprise announcement from the capital Pyong Yang.

A hydrogen, or thermonuclear device is a massive high power nuclear weapon that uses fusion in a chain reaction that results in a far more powerful explosion than the fission blast generated by uranium or plutonium alone, which are the building blocks of traditional atomic bomb.

The suspicions over a plausible nuclear detonation were eminent when seismologists detected a 5.1 magnitude tremor next to its main atomic test site in the northeast of the country.

The Chinese Authority of Seismic Activities described the incident as a “suspected explosion”, while the Japanese government feared there was a strong possibility that “this might be a nuclear test”.

According to the reports of U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake that was detected at 10:00 a.m. Pyongyang time (0130 GMT)- was in the northeast of the country, some 50 kilometres (30 miles) northwest of Kilju city, which lies in the proximity of Punggye-ri nuclear test site.

As reported by The Inquisitr this December, the ruler Kim Jong-Un claimed to possess a Hydrogen Bomb but his claims were greeted with scorn all over the world, most notably from the bitter neighbors South Korea.

The news site Chicago Tribune reported, via the South Korean Newspaper Yonhap News, that the information was ‘not reliable’ about their neighbors being capable to produce the Hydrogen Bomb- a holy grail in Nuclear weaponry.

“We do not believe that North Korea, which has not succeeded in miniaturizing nuclear bombs, has the technology to produce an H-bomb,” an intelligence official told Yonhap.

The Countries apart from North Korea are in state of complete Surprise at the moment. Yahoo News reports that emergency meeting of the National Security Council by the Presidential Blue House in Seoul as Officials discussed the precise nature of the tremor in North Korea.

While the rigmarole of the North Korean tremor has put at their wit’s end, some believe this had been coming all the way long.

Researchers at the U.S.-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University indicated last month that recent satellite photos showed North Korea was digging a new tunnel at Punggye-ri.

The statement read the following.

“While there are no indications that a nuclear test is imminent, the new tunnel adds to North Korea’s ability to conduct additional detonations over the coming years if it chooses to do so.”

This Nuclear Test, if proved to be true, is a major double entendre to their Northern Ally and Nuclear Giant, China. This restricts any chance of talks between countries six countries about North Korean nuclear program – a venture China was pressuring on.

This news, if confirmed, is expected to induce an outrage and condemnation from larger portions of world, including the West and the United States as they harshly criticized a hat-trick of previously conducted nuclear tests in 2006, 2009 and 2013 – all at Punggye-ri.

The nation, as reported by The Guardian, is in a jolly mood. The announcement on state television claimed the test “worked perfectly” and was “self-defence against the US having numerous and humongous nuclear weapons”.

With the surprise outbreak, several nations are in a state of mild panic, that includes Japan, an old rival of North Korea. Japan has decided to condemn the news of the test, labelling it as a threat to its national Security.

If true, this would be North Korea’s forth Nuclear Test and the first involving Hydrogen Bomb which has way greater potency than already destructive Atom Bomb.

On being verified, this News will certainly change the dynamics of Korea-Us standoff and give Korea a tactical edge in their declared war against the U.S.
