One Direction star Niall Horan has spent the holidays back home in the UK. Christmas saw Niall head home to Ireland for some family time. Horan even managed to spend some time checking out some live music in his favorite pub on Christmas Eve. By the new year, Niall had hopped across the Irish Sea to enjoy one of his favorite activities: watching sport. Horan spent some time watching soccer and then, according to the Guardian, Niall was spotted watching the PDC World Darts Championship at London’s Alexandra Palace.

As reported by the Inquisitr, Niall chose to spend his time in the U.K. rather than jetting off to Bali for a bit of winter sunshine with rumored girlfriend Selena Gomez.
As a result of his break in Ireland, people are wondering if Niall has let out a secret about his plans during One Direction’s forthcoming hiatus. Like his bandmates, Niall has been pretty tight-lipped about his plans when One Direction’s extended break begins. To date, Niall has said that he intends to keep writing music, but he wants time to rest, relax, and travel the world.
Niall and his bandmates have been around the globe four times in as many years, but they have little time to explore their surroundings. The attention of the press and fans and a hectic touring schedule means that Horan and his pals don’t get much of an opportunity to see the places they have visited. It seems that Horan is determined to put this right, and Niall wants to start with his native Ireland.
According to the Irish Independent Niall wants to tour Ireland in a caravan, and he may even take his pal Hozier along for the ride. Niall and Hozier even joked that they might take Ed Sheeran along as he too is taking a break from touring. Wow! Imagine turning up on a touring site and finding Niall Horan, Hozier, and Ed Sheeran are your neighbors. That would be a story to tell your grandchildren.

According to the Sun, bookmakers in Ireland have revealed that they fear Niall has revealed a secret while he was in Ireland. It seems that bookmaker Boyle Sports had a number of gamblers contact them over the weekend to request that Horan be added to the betting on who might win the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother.
According to the Daily Star, a mystery punter staked €250 at odds of 16 to 1 that Niall would win the show, and that has set bookmakers nerves jangling.
A spokesman for Boyle Sports confirmed that as a result of such a large novelty bets, they have slashed the odds of Niall winning the show.
“After introducing Niall Horan into the betting at 16/1 following several requests over the weekend we have had to cut his price into 10/1. A rather large bet for a novelty market of €250 at 16/1 was placed in one of our County Westmeath shops also which also caused alarm bells to ring with our traders.
“Niall was home over Christmas in Mullingar and now that he has some free time on his hands with One Direction on a break it would be no surprise to see him enter the Big Brother house. If the rumours are true he certainly would become a clear favourite overnight to win.”
If Horan were to enter the Big Brother house, he would be by far the most high-profile celebrity to do so, and his popularity as a member of One Direction would make him a very short-priced favorite to win the show. Horan’s involvement would be a huge boost for a show that has seen ratings fall away in recent years.
