Prince On Fatherhood: Becoming A Father Made Prince William More Emotional And Appreciate Life Better

Of the two Royal princes, heir to the throne William has always been considered to be more sensible than his brother Harry. However, the Duke of Cambridge has recently stated that, since becoming a father, he is now more emotional and appreciates life better. According to Prince William himself, even the smallest things now cause for him to “well up,” and he fears the idea of not being able to see his children grow up.

Prince William is now father to heir to the throne, Prince George and his sister Princess Charlotte, but has now said that events around the world provoke more thought for him. He truly fears the idea of not being around to see his children grow up.

“I never used to get too wound up or worried about things. But now the smallest little things, you well up a little more, you get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world or whatever a lot more, I think, as a father.

Just because you realise how precious life is and it puts it all in perspective. The idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that.”

Heir to the throne and Duke of Cambridge, Prince William has always strayed away from discussing deeply emotional matters, however, media in the United Kingdom has definitely noticed a change in his approach to such matters. This comes at a time when we’ve seen Prince Harry also change his approach to his responsibilities. This is definitely a time of change as far as the younger Royals are concerned.

The emotional words from Prince William came during an interview with UK broadcaster ITV about his father’s charity, Princes Trust. The charity has quickly become one of the largest establishments in the UK to provide support for disadvantaged young people and it’s clear that Prince William and Harry are very proud of their father for his work. So much so that Prince Charles has expressed his hope that his sons will take the reins of the charity and continue to lead it once he has made his eventual ascent to the throne. Princes Trust is definitely something that the entire Royal Family is incredibly proud of.

Prince William’s family is without a doubt under a pretty big spotlight in the United Kingdom and across the world, and that’s no surprise considering they represent the future of the country’s monarchy. Comprised of Prince William, and Princes Kate, and their two children, George and Charlotte, this is definitely a family at the heart of the future for the Royals. With that in mind, you can understand why the family is starting to take more modern approaches to parenting than perhaps their parents would have done.

A lot of the changing image of Prince William sprouts from the advice provided by his father, Prince Charles, who is always looking to improve the Royal image. So much so that William joked that his father’s advice at times caused him and Harry to cringe. For a family with a pretty serious exterior, it’s pretty clear that the Royals definitely have their fair share of fun behind closed doors and that’s something the British people will undeniably appreciate.

What the future holds for Prince William and his family is unknown, however, one thing is clear and that’s the fact that he is changing. As the image of the Royal family changes, so does Prince William’s approach towards family. In general though, it’s nice to see a future heir to the throne that appreciates life and his children.
