Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Getting Reimagined Nuketown Map

Nuketown was one of Call of Duty: Black Ops‘ most popular maps, and so Treyarch is planning to bring the fan favorite back for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Nuketown 2025, as it’s called, is a “reimagined” version of the original map, according to Activision. Just how “reimagined” Nuketown 2025 will be, though, is an unknown at this point. At the very least, you can probably expect that the map will look quite a bit different. You know, since it’s 2025 and all.

There’s a minor catch, however: Nuketown 2025 won’t be included in the game, per se. To get access to the map, you’ll have to put in a pre-order at “most” retailers. The pre-order bonus applies to all platforms, so you’ll be able to pick up the map via Steam pre-order, or through GameStop.

“Multiplayer fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops LOVE Nuketown,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. “Flat out, Nuketown was a blast to play before, and we’re excited about the reimagined Nuketown 2025 in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. We can’t wait to play with everyone come this November.”

Since someone is bound to ask, Activision went ahead and confirmed that the Nuketown 2025 map will not be on the disc. Additionally, Activision confirmed that the offer extends to pre-orders new and old, so those of you who already pre-ordered need not worry.
