Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Back Together? Ex-Couple Seen Partying In Australia

Pop singer Miley Cyrus and actor Liam Hemsworth shocked their fans when they called off their engagement in 2013, but this new report could possibly mean that the estranged lovebirds are back together.

The “Wrecking Ball” singer was seen partying with the Hunger Games actor in Australia.

Cyrus, 23, went to the land down under to spend the first weekend of 2016 in Byron Bay, which is located along the country’s east coast. She visited her ex-fiancé, his brothers Chris Hemsworth, 32, and Luke Hemsworth, 35, as well as some relatives and friends.

The ex-couple was spotted at the Falls Festival on Saturday. Even the event’s official twitter page tweeted about Miley attending the annual event.

“Miley Cyrus dropped in last night,” @fallsofficial posted.

According to another local publication, the Gold Coast Bulletin, it seems that the reunion was not simply a catch-up with friends and family. Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus were seen getting affectionate with one another.

“They were absolutely back on — they were hugging and kissing, it was full on. There was a lot of affection,” an unnamed source said.

One source told E! Online that while hanging out in a VIP area backstage, Liam was seen “rubbing Miley’s back.”

More reports mentioned that the former lovers spent about half an hour in the VIP area drinking with friends, and soon after they viewed the music festival from a general viewing area. They were guarded by security to make sure no paparazzi shots were taken.

In addition, the two were also spotted at a Byron Bay restaurant, where a paparazzi photo was taken.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth first met while filming the romantic film The Last Song in 2010.

In 2012, the two announced their engagement after about two years of dating. However, no wedding date was announced, and the engagement was called off a year later.

Since then, Miley has been linked to actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick. She was even linked to Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell.

On the other hand, Liam was linked to Mexican actress Eiza González as well as Hunger Games co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

However, the two former flames remained close despite the breakup, and both celebrities said that they are, indeed, close friends.

“Me and Liam are still so close and we love each other,” Miley said in an interview in September.

She also admitted that they have known each other since they were young and obviously already had an off-screen kiss.

“Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?… Yeah, I have,” when asked if she has already kissed the hunky actor.

Hemsworth, on the other hand, said in an October interview that their relationship of five years means that “those feelings will never change.”

“And that’s good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn’t just a fling,” he added.

He also said that their relationship was an important part of his life, and “always will be.”

Netizens immediately took to social media to share their reactions on the rumored rekindling romance between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.

Some people stated that they are shocked to hear about the rumor, although there were some fans who found the rekindled romance sweet and touching.

Despite the images showing that they may have reunited, neither Miley Cyrus nor Liam Hemsworth has commented on the issue.

It also seems like Miley Cyrus does not wish the reunion to go public. She appears in just a handful of photos but is obviously absent in the rest.

Before the New Year celebration in Australia, the two were last seen together during a pet adoption event in Los Angeles in November.
