Rob Kardashian: After Health Scare, Could Kardashian Brother Become The Next Subway Spokesman?

Could Rob Kardashian become the next Subway spokesman?

The idea seems a bit far-fetched, but that’s what one media outlet is reporting in the wake of Rob’s health scare.

According to Hollywood Life, Subway is discussing the possibility of bringing on Rob Kardashian to replace former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle.

“We all know the days of Jared are forever gone and that leaves a very big hole in a pitchman with the Subway brand. Subway has been having discussions and would like to see if working with Rob would be a fit to not only help get him healthy but possibly have him become the next weight loss success story and pitchman for Subway. Rob would obviously have to lose the weight and do the work but Subway is interested in being a part of his success. It is something that could benefit both of them in the long run.”

Just a few days after Christmas, Rob Kardashian was rushed to the hospital with stomach pains, according to reports. Those reports indicate that Rob was diagnosed with adult onset diabetes, though the diagnoses has not been confirmed.

In recent years, the 28-year-old brother to Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian has chosen to stay out of the public eye — and off the Keeping Up With the Kardashians show — as he reportedly battles depression. Reports indicate that, within the past few years, Rob has gained more than 100 pounds. (Find out more about Rob Kardashian’s hospital stay in the video below. Article continues below the video.)

Since the diagnosis, Rob Kardashian has gone into seclusion, opting to ignore text messages from family and friends, according to information given to People magazine by an anonymous source.

“Even after his medical scare, Rob acts like he wants nothing to do with the world. He doesn’t respond to texts from people that are genuinely concerned and checking up on him.”

The report that Kardashian doesn’t want to talk to those close to him seems to lend credibility to the idea that Rob wouldn’t want to be a spokesman for Subway. Given his reluctance to appear in public and on screen during the past years, it seems unlikely that the Kardashian brother would choose to go the Subway route.

Hollywood Life also reports that mother Kris Jenner wants Rob to go on a television show — something like The Biggest Loser or even his own reality TV show — in an effort to document his weight loss. Hollywood Life reported that Rob Kardashian is not even considering the idea.

Since Rob’s health scare, his mother and sisters have continued to be supportive of him, reports indicate. When news of Kardashian’s hospitalization broke, momager Kris Jenner was vacationing in St. Barths. The famous mother flew home to be by her son’s side before she returned Thursday to the Caribbean to continue her vacation with boyfriend Corey Gamble. Jenner and Gamble were said to have visited daughter Kendall Jenner on her yacht while Kendall vacationed with Harry Styles.

According to People, the Kardashian-Jenner family has not yet come up with a plan to help Rob Kardashian through the difficult time, but People‘s source said that the family intends to do so as soon as everyone is back in Los Angeles.

“The family will come up with a new plan when the holiday is over and everyone is back in L.A. They are of course very concerned about Rob and have been for a long time.”
