TV5Monde USA is back in action with their new movie line up for the New Year. The year 2016 promises to be a spectacular year in TV programming on the French language-based channel, according to their latest press release. Get prepared to see a mix of crime series, compelling documentaries, and some exciting competitions. Some of the treats you definitely don’t want to miss, include The Good Life, a wonderful series about two teen boys who find out about an elaborate kidnapping scheme that involves their father. Bloody Island of Yeu, another crime series that centers around Isabelle, a woman who travels all over the Island of Yeu to investigate a series of homicides that are connected to drug traffickers and mythical creatures.
Also, be sure to look out for Love and Fresh Water, a story that follows the romance between Jip and Mona that is jeopardized after one of them takes on a much younger lover. TV5MONDE USA is definitely not leaving out those fans who love to watch cooking shows. For them, In The Skin of a Chef is a wonderful cooking competition that will be hosted by Chef Christophe Michalak, who will watch as some up-and-coming chefs try their hand at remaking his recipes.
The Lives of Planet Solar offers up a documentary about the environment that will enlighten viewers on how some of the largest boats in the world are operated by solar energy alone. Here’s a closer look at what TV5Monde USA has to offer for 2016.
La belle vie (The Good Life) is an adventure film, starring Maya Sansa, that follows Yves and his sons, Sylvain and Pierre, as they live a tranquil life over the course of 10 years in some hidden mountains. La belle vie goes deep to expose how these boys, who were kept hidden from their mother, began to rebel, in order to pursue their own lives in a neighboring area, later blaming their father from snatching them away from their mother. It airs Sunday, January 3 at 5:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET.
D’amour et d’eau fraiche (Love and Fresh Water) is a 1975 drama that centers around Mona, a woman who falls madly in love with a man named Jip, who happens to be more than two decades younger. For a while things go great between then, but the relationships experiences a setback when Mona finds out that Jip has another lover, one that is much younger than her. Now, he must choose between an older love and the younger one. Love and Fresh Water airs Tuesday, January 12 at 5:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET.
Les vies de Planet Solar (The Lives of Planet Solar)
