Anna Duggar Divorce: Embattled Wife Stands By Josh During Rehab Stint, But There Could Be Unseen Trouble

Anna Duggar appears to be moving further from divorce, spending a chunk of her holiday week flying across the country to be with her embattled husband in his rehab stint.

But another Duggar family divorce may uncover deeper problems being hidden from followers of the 19 Kids and Counting family.

Anna has been apart from Josh for several months since he left his family to attend rehab. Josh was embroiled in a pair of controversies, first with the revelation that he molested several young girls — including his own sisters — when he was a teenager, and then when it was revealed he was a customer on the cheating site Ashley Madison.

Things got worse for the Duggar family, with a pair of adult film stars coming forward to say Josh had paid for sex. It was then that Josh jetted off to an intensive Christian-based rehab, leaving wife Anna and his young kids behind.

It was then that the divorce rumors kicked into high gear. Reports indicated that Anna Duggar was leaning toward leaving her husband, but that his family and other members were pushing against it.

Now it appears Anna Duggar is not picking divorce. She paid Josh a holiday-week rehab visit, which CBS News noted was another sign that the family is trying to work things out.

Anna Duggar has demonstrated over and over again that she is trying to mend things with her husband Josh Duggar, who was rocked by a cheating and child molestation scandal this year.

A source told People that Anna visited Josh for Christmas at his faith-based rehab center in Rockford, Illinois, where he has been staying and receiving treatment since he admitted his addiction pornography in light of the Ashley Madison hacking incident in August. The incident occurred after unearthed police reports revealed that Josh had been accused of inappropriately touching five minor girls in 2006, including his sisters Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald.

The rest of the family appears to be supporting Anna and Josh Duggar in their plans to stay together. Josh’s siblings have offered statements backing up Josh, even as they were critical of his behavior.

Another source told ET that Anna and Josh have been exchanging love letters while Josh is away in rehab.

“Anna is planning on getting back together with Josh, that’s just how it goes,” the source said. “The family was taught to have a new level of forgiveness towards Josh.”

While Anna Duggar is trending away from divorce, another Duggar marriage is falling apart. Cousin Amy’s father, Terry Jordan, filed for divorce against her mother, Deanna Duggar, just before Christmas. The 53-year-old Terry claimed that he left after his wife’s “intolerable” treatment.

“The Defendant has treated the Plaintiff with such indignities as to render his condition in life intolerable,” Terry Jordan’s attorney, Elizabeth Finocchi, said in court papers uncovered by Radar Online.

The report also uncovered some long-simmering problems between the couple, including a restraining order Deanna filed in 1992 claiming Terry threatened to kill her and “the baby,” who the report identified as likely being Amy.

The revelation came as a surprise to 19 Kids and Counting viewers, who saw no hints of trouble in the time that Terry and Deanna appeared together. That led some to theorize that there may be more trouble between Anna Duggar and Josh than producers are letting on, and that if the couple is truly headed for divorce then their newest show, Jill & Jessa: Counting On, may be trying to keep it secret from viewers.
