Al-Shabaab Terror Group Takes Hillary Clinton’s Advice, Uses Donald Trump In New Recruitment Video
The Al-Shabaab terrorist group has released a new recruitment video that features GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump alongside video of black teenagers being shot by police in America. The video is meant to appeal to young, black youth in America by painting pictures of the U.S. as a racist nation while presenting Islam as a “colorblind” religion in a bid to call new recruits to Al-Shabaab’s radical Islamic cause.
The Daily Mail reports that the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, based in Somalia, has released a new recruitment video aimed at American youth. The video features clips of GOP presidential front runner Donald Trump’s speech about a “shutdown” regarding the entrance of Muslims into America.
The video clip from the Donald Trump rally in South Carolina features a segment in which Trump states, “Donald J Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.” Following the small snippet of video, the recruiter in the video, “underwear bomb plot” mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki tells viewers to either leave or fight.
“My advice to you is this. You have two choices, either hejira or jihad, you either leave or fight. You leave and live among Muslims or you stay behind and follow the example of Nidal Hassan and others who fulfilled their duty of fighting for Allah’s cause.”
Awlaki is now deceased and was the first American citizen to be hunted and killed without trial by his own government since the Civil War. Awlaki was killed in a drone strike in Yemen in September 2011, but has been a constant face of the jihad movement ever since. The New York Times noted earlier this year that following Awlaki’s death his”pronouncements seem to carry greater authority today than when he was living, because America killed him.”
In addition to the words of Awlaki and Trump’s rally speech, the video also contained videos of various black teens that were killed by American police officers. The video seems to go after young, black youth that feel wronged by American society. The recruitment video paints Islam as a “colorblind” religion that will accept them and give them purpose. The video also features American teenagers who have left the United States to join the terror group’s fight in Somalia.
The inclusion of Donald Trump’s speech in the terror recruitment video comes shortly after Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton called Trump ISIS’ “best recruiter” during the democratic presidential debate. Clinton said ISIS and other groups were ‘going to people showing them videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists. However, at the time of Clinton’s statement, Donald Trump pointed out he had not seen any videos in which he was used as a recruitment tool and that Clinton “lies like crazy.”

Though at the time there was no proof that Trump was used in terror recruitment videos, it seems the presidential hopeful will now have to address the fact that Al-Shabaab has taken the same stance as Clinton that snippets of Trump’s videos could be useful to the jihadi recruitment cause.
