WWE News: Roman Reigns Versus Triple H Set To Go Down At ‘Royal Rumble’ PPV

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns had a great 2015, but one filled with highs and lows for his character. He won the Royal Rumble match to the hate of all in attendance. He then went on to face Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31. There Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to steal the title from his grasp. Reigns then had shots at the WWE World Title but kept on missing his chance.

He and Dean Ambrose then got into a Family vs Family war with the Wyatt Family later in the year. Reigns then finally won the WWE World Heavyweight Title only to be cashed in on again, this time by Sheamus, at WWE Survivor Series. Reigns was then able to get another shot at the title, this time at the WWE TLC PPV in a big TLC match. He would lose the match due to outside help by the League of Nations.

This sent Reigns on a war path, which ended up costing Triple H. The Game was beaten down so badly that he missed the following night of WWE RAW. That was the same night that Vince McMahon came back, which led to Sheamus putting his WWE World Title on the line. Reigns would beat Sheamus after also superman punching the boss.

Vince made an appearance this past week, which may not have hit as hard as his initial performance, but it still garnered good ratings for WWE. McMahon then announced he would be the special guest referee in a WWE World Title match between Reigns and Sheamus. This clearly has set up written all over it to some, but it now seems that another plan is set to go down instead.

According to Cageside Seats, Triple H is set to come to WWE RAW next week and help to set up his potential match with Roman Reigns at the WWE Royal Rumble PPV. The idea is that Reigns will find a way to win and retain his WWE World Heavyweight Title and then be forced to put it on the line at the Rumble against Triple H.

The match between the two has been hyped up for a while now, so it makes all the sense in the world for it to happen soon. The problem is that this is the type of match you could see at WrestleMania in a top tier part of the card. However, due to Roman Reigns most likely main eventing yet again at the event, he will be busy by the time WWE reaches WrestleMania.

That means the match against The Game must happen sooner rather than later, which could then set him on another path by the time WrestleMania rolls around.

It is uncertain if WWE will have Roman Reigns go over Triple H, but it can be assumed that this will be the case as Reigns was set to go into WrestleMania 32 as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as of the latest plans for him. It is still unknown who will win the Royal Rumble match, so it will be interesting to see who Reigns will be facing at WrestleMania for the championship, but the thought among most fans is that WWE could create a cool storyline by having a newer star win the Rumble match and main event with Reigns.

Most want to see someone like Dean Ambrose win or even a Kevin Owens. While doubtful either will win the match, it could be a good plan for WWE to go this direction due to so many injuries happening. However, the most likely candidates as of now to win are John Cena and Brock Lesnar. There is a thought that Triple H will find a way to get involved in the Rumble too, but we will have to wait and see.
