Left 4 Dead 2 ‘Cold Stream’ DLC Gets A Release Date

After a rather lengthy wait, Valve has finally announced a firm release date for Left 4 Dead 2‘s ‘Cold Stream’ DLC.

The Cold Stream mission itself has been available on PC for some time in the form of a (buggy) beta, but this is the final, polished release, and a first on Xbox 360. And while Cold Stream may be an entertaining mission, that’s not even the best part about the DLC.

Come July 24, Cold Stream’s release date, players will also be able to play through ‘Blood Harvest,’ ‘Crash Course,’ ‘Dead Air’ and ‘Death Toll.’ If those missions sound familiar to you, that’s because they’re all from the original Left 4 Dead.

That’s not all Left 4 Dead 2 goodness to come out of the DLC. As Valve explains on the official Left 4 Dead blog:

“There are some other surprises and details we will give you later but for now we just want to confirm an often requested feature. With the update going out at the same time (also for the PC), all of the mutations will be available at all times. This will allow players to choose to match into games playing Taannkk!, Gib Fest, or even a user created mutation like Confogl.”

Valve promises that we’ll be hearing more as we get closer to launch, so stay tuned for that.

Is the Cold Stream DLC enough of an incentive to get you back into Left 4 Dead 2?
