Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’ Coming ‘Very Soon,’ ‘Hotline Bling’ Rapper Teases Fans During NYE Bash

Drake may have had one of his best years to date in 2015 with the release of his most successful single to date, “Hotline Bling,” and the release of two mixtapes including, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and What A Time To Be Alive. Nonetheless, it looks like Drake is gearing up to make 2016 even more memorable.

Drake rang in the New Year on Thursday night with an exciting performance at E11Even nightclub in Miami while performing a medley of his greatest hits for fans and star-studded attendees like Lil Wayne, Birdman, and 2 Chainz, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

Drake took to Instagram to share several photos of his New Year’s Eve bash, captioning a few of his pics with a simple “16” to hint that big things may be in store for Cash Money Records in the coming year.

While many were focused on Lil Wayne and Birdman’s reunion during Drake’s bash, seemingly signifying an end to their beef resulting from a dispute over Lil Wayne’s contract with Cash Money Records, Drake also hinted that a release date for Views From the 6 is on the horizon in 2016, Complex UK reports.

One attendee at Drake’s New Year’s Eve bash captured a video of Drake promising that his highly-anticipated Views From the 6 album is coming “very soon,” albeit neglecting to offer a tentative release date for the album.

The news comes just months after Drake dispelled rumors of a 2015 release date for Views From the 6 during his performance at Austin City Limits in October, telling concertgoers that he planned to spend the remainder of 2015 in the studio in order to finish recording the album, Spin reports.

While Drake has been adamant about remaining mum regarding an official release date for his album, simply telling The Fader during his cover story interview that Views would arrive “imminently,” rumors continue to swirl regarding a January release date for Drake’s new album.

In November, a mysterious tweet appeared on Daily Rap’s Twitter account seemingly teasing the impending release of Drake’s Views From the 6 via a brief, cryptic video that ends with the date “January 6, 2016” flashing across the screen, Billboard reports.

While it remains to be seen whether or not the video in question was fan-created or an official teaser from Drake’s promotional team, Drake continues to drop subtle hints via social media that Views is on its way.

Drake teased a brief, 15-second snippet of a new track from Views From the 6 on Vine two months ago, instantly sparking rumors that Drake and the remainder of his OVO team are wrapping up the recording process for the album.

Most recently, DJ Akademiks took to Twitter last week to tease what initially appeared to be a clip of another new track from Drake’s Views From the 6; however, it was later determined by Akademiks that the track in question may point toward a collaboration between Drake and Rihanna on the “B*** Better Have My Money” singer’s new album, Anti.

“Remember that Snippet I tweeted out with Drake singing?? Turns out roc nation on behalf of Rihanna sent over noticed to remove..Us ur brain,” Akademiks revealed on his Twitter account.

“Basically, that song is either not on Views or a collab wit Rihanna but could even be a reference for Rihanna..Who Knows,” DJ Akademiks continued, noting that he “complied” with Rihanna and Roc Nation’s request to remove the preview from his social media accounts.

Although Drake continues to remain quiet regarding an official release date for Views, do you think he will drop his new album in January?
