Jennifer Lawrence Hates New Years, Always Ends Up ‘Drunk And Disappointed’

Hunger Games and Joy star Jennifer Lawrence told British talk show host Graham Norton she’s never had a good New Years and always ends up “drunk and disappointed.”

We’ve probably all been there and done that at some stage of our lives, feeling the need to go out and celebrate the birth of a brand new year. While these days some of us stay home and watch the celebrations on TV, others will still insist on going out, getting horribly drunk, and inevitably feeling awful during the events leading up to 2016. As for New Year’s Day, this tends to be a day of waking late, drinking lots of water, and taking copious amounts of painkillers.

As a very open and friendly person, Jennifer Lawrence is never shy to admit to her faults, and she says this time of year is her least favorite. While she always feels she has to celebrate the festivities, apparently things always seem to go wrong.

While this particular episode of the popular chat show The Graham Norton Show will only air, appropriately, tonight at 10:45 GMT on BBC One, Entertainment Online has the gist of the conversation, where Jennifer Lawrence and fellow guest Eddie Redmayne are asked their thoughts on New Year’s.

When Norton asked Lawrence what she thought about New Years she said, “I really hate it.”

“I’ve never had a good one.”

Jennifer Lawrence went on to say that everyone is “chasing a good time, and it’s always a disappointment.”

While she always plans on doing nothing, she said something always seems to land in her lap and she always ends up drunk and disappointed, adding that “Drunk and Disappointed” should be the title of her memoir.

Besides chatting about New Years, Norton also asked the Hunger Games star to share some of her biggest mishaps in Hollywood – probably not a wise choice when it comes to Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer responded that she is a puker. She said when she gets stressed and exhausted, she just vomits.

“I was driving with my publicist the other day and had to roll down the window and I puked all down the side of the car. It was in front of all the paparazzi—I painted New York! And I threw up at Madonna’s party — on the porch!”

Not a pretty picture, admittedly, but it turns out her fellow guest on the Graham Norton show has had similar experiences. Redmayne told the audience, “This is something I have never admitted to the world, but I puked at Madonna’s party, too!”

It all makes one wonder how many other of Madonna’s guests headed to the bushes to puke.

Sounds like the show is going to be a star-studded New Year’s Eve event, as besides Jennifer Lawrence and Eddie Redmayne, Daddy’s Home co-stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will feature, along with a musical guest Years and Years.

As mentioned by The Daily Beast, New York City is always the place to be on New Years and reportedly the crowds have been gathering since Christmas, waiting to clog up Times Square for that famous midnight ball-drop.

New Year’s always seems to be about being in the right place at the right time, and this is just way too much pressure for many. You have to be seen to be enjoying yourself as you see in the New Year.

While the pressure is on to have a good time, why not simply relax and enjoy yourself, doing something you really want to do and have an absolutely incredible 2016.
