Completing A Few New Year’s Resolutions Made Easy In ‘The Sims 4’

Considering The Sims 4 is the perfect opportunity to play with life, even digital Sims want to ring in the New Year with their very own resolutions. After all, it is significantly easier for Sims to stay true to their resolutions than it is for the average person. Why not put a few Sims through their paces to reach some quick New Year’s goals? Of course, the player could just as easily decide to destroy a Sim’s life with terrible decisions as well. What kind of player would do that, though?

Common New Year’s resolutions are easy to complete in The Sims 4. In fact, most players are probably able to knock out a few of these before the New Year even begins. That’s especially true since The Sims 4 supports its own cheats perfect for players looking to cut a few corners. Simply pressing Control, Shift, and “C” brings up the cheat console. Do your Sims need some cash? Not a problem, just pull up the cheat console and type in Motherlode. This cheat gives the current household 50,000 simoleons, and players can keep entering the cheat for even more cash.

As The Sims 4 developers note on the official site, cheating is not the only way to quickly complete a New Year’s resolution. Other common resolutions are a breeze in The Sims 4 with a little gameplay finesse. Learning a new skill could take months in the real world, but in the SimNation, Sims can read for a day or two to be completely versed in skills Woodworking or Fishing. That can even be accomplished without even touching a piece of lumber or picking up a rod, too.

Even the most stressful life events are easy to start, manage, and enjoy in The Sims 4. Having a baby, for instance, is as simple as knowingly selecting the “Try for Baby” option that pops up over another Sim. If a couple is not destined to breed, the player can have the Woohoo without worry, but the “Try for Baby” option ensures that they get pregnant. As long as both Sims are willing, their bodies are able to produce offspring. Easy.

Of course, it is important to note that using the cheat console in The Sims 4 is pretty common. There are plenty of commands to fix issues and offer more flexibility to players. However, many cheats require that the player enter “testingcheats on” without the quotations into the cheat console in order for them to work. Also, commands that change the way the game functions may cause odd issues. For example, items moved using the “bb.moveobjects on” will sometimes snap back to their natural state, making things look quite off.

The second and latest expansion, “Get Together,” is out now. Players can view the full list of objects and items that the expansion offers by visiting the Origin page. The expansion is currently $40, but The Sims 4 and its many packs often go on sale. There is a sale underway right now on the base game making it just $30. The two available game packs, “Outdoor Retreat” and “Spa Day,” are also discounted for the Origin Holiday Sale. They are $15 each instead of $20 right now. The third type of DLC for The Sims 4 does go on sale as well; however, no stuff packs are currently discounted. The sale will end on January 5.

“Get Together” adds the whole new world of Windenburg to The Sims 4, introduces the DJ skill, adds the Dancing skill, and gives players the new Club feature. Not to mention, new venues and the wealth of new objects and items added to The Sims 4 with the “Get Together” expansion are rather impressive. As the Inquisitr reported, the new Club feature is quite extensive, letting Sims act outside of their own traits. Players can even create Clubs that rival each other, help out other Sims, or focus on one activity.
