President Obama’s Affordable Care Act was upheld by the Supreme Court on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean that everyone is behind the President’s landmark legislation. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, for one, said that he would not be implementing Obamacare in his state.

Jindal said:

“It really raises the question of what’s next, what’s allowable… Taxes on people who refuse to eat tofu or refuse to drive a Chevy Volt…this whole ruling I think is ridiculous. It’s a huge expansion of federal power.”

Jindal, who was speaking on a Republican National Committee Conference Call, said that Louisiana would “not set up an exchange.”

According to ABC, the Affordable Care Act would require states to set up a health insurance exchange program by 2014. Jindal, who is being considered as Mitt Romney’s running mate, said that he’s waiting until after the election to worry about setting up an exchange program.

Jindal said:

“Elections have consequences. Elections do, in fact, matter. This one matters a lot. We are not going to start implementing Obamacare… We are committed to working to elect Gov. Romney to repeal Obamacare.”

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell also said that he was reluctant to implement the new health care system. McDonnel said that he was evaluating his options but is hoping that Romney will win the election and the legislation will be repealed.

McDonnel said:

“(My) hope is in 125 days or so we elect a new president and the Senate along with the House of Representatives will have the votes to repeal this mandate and replace it with a common sense free market, pro-federalism approach to health care.”

Several Republicans have spoken out against the new legislation and Romney has already vowed that he would repeal the Affordable Care Act if he is elected president.
