Divorce is not sad. It's freeing. What's sad is when two people stay in an unhappy relationship. And if you don't like the comments people make, don't put yourself in the position for people to make them. You've opened yourself up for criticism.

Also, I happen to agree that this kind of stuff isn't really anyone's business other than the people who are directly involved and that you didn't, in fact, say that anyone shouldn't post their opinions here on this forum.

Calleigh, Scientology IS a cult – and a bizarre one at that!! It was INVENTED by a science fiction writer. You'd have to be beyond insane to believe all that! It defies imagination that Scientology is taken seriously.

Exactly Calleigh, all organized religions are cults. I'm spiritual because I don't like people telling me what I can and cannot do; what I can and cannot believe in. When someone makes their faith into a formal religion, gives it a church, powers to certain individuals over others, a defined set of rules, boundaries, rituals, etc., they are making that faith into a cult. When referring to all religions, I believe that there are two types of cults. There are cults that are mildly harmless, and then Cults (with a capital C), which promote harmful beliefs that work to subdue and dominate their parishioners, or that deem themselves superior to other human beings in a way that causes them to perpetrate violence against others (Ex: the KKK.) Scientology, while the base principles seem to be harmless enough, has been turned into something horrible by those people that hold power. Same goes for many religions though, certain branches of Christianity, certain groups of Muslim factions, etc.. I could go on but I'm not going to risk pissing off other people.
