Paris Terrorist Attack ‘Miracle Woman’ Shot Six Times At Bataclan Wakes From Coma, Begins Speaking About Attack

A 31-year-old woman, Laura Croix, was at the Bataclan theater in Paris when terrorists entered the building and began shooting. Croix was shot six times in the chest and abdomen but somehow survived the horror attack. Despite surviving, Croix was in a coma for weeks and was not expected to recover. However, two weeks ago on December 10, Croix woke from her coma to the surprise of her doctors. Croix is now being dubbed the “miracle woman” of the Bataclan and has began speaking out about the attack and her ongoing nightmares about the deadly night in the theater.

The Daily Mail reports that Laura Croix, 31, was at the Bataclan theater on November 13 when terrorists entered the building and began shooting the concert-goers there to watch the American band, Eagles of Death Metal. Croix was shot three times in the chest and then an additional three times in the abdomen. She also fractured an arm and a hip and severed two of her fingers during the attack. Croix was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and doctors say they were forced to perform a tracheotomy to save her life.

Croix then went into a coma and remained so until December 10, when she woke from her coma and began communicating with family members. Doctors say that Croix’s recovery is a “miracle” and that she is now communicating with family members and discussing the attack that almost killed her. Croix says she has nonstop nightmares about the attack and says that, though she didn’t know the full extent of the devastation in which 130 people were killed and 352 were injured, she did recall the devastation around her in the Bataclan.

Laura’s brother Sébastien Croix says that the first thing his sister wanted to know upon waking from her coma was what had happened.

“The first thing she wanted to know was what happened. She has awful nightmares. She knew that a lot of people had been killed. She is asking a lot of questions.”

The Sunday Times also reports that Laura told family members that she recalled hearing one of the terrorists “Allahu Akbar” as dozens of people were shot in front of her. Laura was also noted as a singer, and her family says that they hope she will one day be able to return to the stage. However, Laura’s road to recovery is far from over. Doctors believe that the “miracle woman” of the Bataclan will need to remain in the hospital for another year to properly heal from the injuries that could have killed her.

The Bataclan terrorist attack was a part of a series of attacks on Paris, France, on November 13, 2015. The coordinated attacks also took place at the Stade de France and numerous street cafes in the area. In total, 130 people were killed during the attacks with 89 of those deaths taking place at the Bataclan theater where concert-goers were shot down with assault riffles.

Startling video taken outside of the Bataclan theater the night of the terrorist attack shows the extent of the devastation as people flee the theater and gunshots can be heard in the background.

Since the attacks, the ninth suspect in the Paris terrorist attack has finally been arrested. CNN reports that the ninth suspect was arrested in Belgium. A number of other suspected Paris terrorists were killed during the St. Denis siege. Hasna Ait Boulahcen, a suspected participant in the Paris attack, died in the siege on November 18. Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the purported ring leader for the attacks, also died during the St. Denis raid.
