The Weeknd And Bella Hadid, Dating No More? Couple Reportedly Taking A Break
R&B singer The Weeknd, 25, and 19-year-old model Bella Hadid have been dating for a while, but there are some recent reports claiming that the couple has decided to take a break.
“Bella and The Weeknd have taken a break,” a source told E! News. “Their schedules got very busy and it really cut into there relationship. They are still in each other’s lives though, just not in the same exclusive capacity.”
But is there anything else that could have caused The Weeknd and Bella to take a break in their relationship? Well, apparently The Weeknd getting caught backstage at one of his shows kissing other girls could certainly put a dent in their romance. Just last week, The Weeknd was doing just that, at a show that Bella Hadid did not attend, in Miami. The two met while they were enjoying the Coachella Music Festival in May, and have been dating ever since. The two did not spend Christmas together. Hadid was spending Christmas with her Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills mom, Yolanda Foster as well as her sister, Gigi Hadid, who is also a model. Yolanda shared a family photo with the caption, “The best thing to hold onto in Life is each other… Merry Christmas from our family to yours xoxo.”
The Weeknd seemed to have his time occupied on Christmas Eve, dropping two new songs — “Low Life,” a song featuring rapper Future, and a remix of Jeremih’s single “Pass Dat.”

Just a couple of weeks ago, The Weeknd and Bella Hadid seemed to be doing fine. Bella took to her Instagram to post a romantic photo, which shows her lying in a bathtub filled rose petals, with The Weeknd sitting over the tub.
The Weeknd released his second studio album, Beauty Behind the Madness, on August 28, 2015, which sold 300 copies during its first week of release. For one of the album’s singles, “In The Night,” Bella Hadid was featured in a visually arresting music video for the song. In the video, Hadid plays the femme fatale, of sorts, directed by BRTHR.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, The Weeknd opened up a bit on how the couple met, and how them meeting at the time they did was perfect timing.
“I actually asked her to be on the artwork for Beauty Behind the Madness. My motive was literally to work with her. I was like, ‘All right, cool — we can meet up face-to-face.’ It just kind of fell into my lap. If this had happened two years ago — well, she couldn’t. But if I’d met someone two years ago, I probably would’ve f***ed it up. But I’m more — how do I say it? — clear-thinking now.”

But despite putting his relationship with Bella Hadid on hold, the Canadian R&B singer can still bask in the huge success of his most recent album, Beauty Behind the Madness. As of December, the album has sold over 767,000 copies in America. The album recently won the American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Album in 2015, and it also received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year and an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Album.
In an interview with GQ, the singer, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, talked about the pure honesty of his music and his writing process.
“All of my music is honest,” he said. “When I write, I write about my surroundings. Sometimes it’s light and sometimes it gets very dark. With this album I’ve learned to balance them out and evolve my sound.”
