Lamar Odom Update: Khloe Kardashian’s Husband Continues To Recover, But Still Suffers From ‘Memory Loss?’

Lamar Odom may have recently took a few steps on his own after a two-month hospitalization, but according to Youth Health Magazine on December 25, the former NBA is still suffering from “memory loss.”

When Lamar Odom was hospitalized on October 13, he was deemed to be in a coma with several of his organs failing after an alleged overdose at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Pahrump, Nevada. Then, days later, after awaking from the coma, Lamar Odom began what has been an extensive and ongoing recovery.

While Lamar Odom still has a ways to go when it comes to making a complete recovery, recent reports have confirmed he recently ditched his walker and began walking on his own, and will soon be transferred from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, California, to a nearby rehabilitation facility. Lamar Odom has been stationed at Cedars-Sinai for the last several weeks after leaving the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where he had received care in the days following his reported overdose.

Earlier this week, a source told Us Weekly, “[Lamar Odom] gets better a little bit every day. He took a few steps without the walker. It’s very slow and he’s supposed to go to the rehab any day now.”

Since he was hospitalized in October, Lamar Odom has been supported by a number of friends and family members, including Khloe Kardashian, Kobe Bryant, Kris Jenner, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and his two children with ex-girlfriend Liza Morales, Destiny and Lamar Odom, Jr.

In addition to updates on Lamar Odom’s walking and mobility, there has also been an update on his mental state, and unfortunately, he isn’t doing so well with his memory.

Lamar Odom “definitely has some memory loss,” a source told Entertainment Tonight on Monday, according to a report by Huffington Post, adding that he “forgets a lot of people’s names — sometimes even his own.”

Despite the many reports claiming Lamar Odom is headed in the right direction towards recovery, there has also been a report, which stated that Lamar Odom isn’t doing nearly as well as the media has portrayed.

“[Lamar Odom] has made great improvements after the overdose, but he is not walking and unfortunately there is no Christmas miracle for his condition,” a source told Radar Online on December 21. “He’s still in pretty bad shape.”

According to the report, Lamar Odom’s team felt the Kardashian and Jenner family had painted a prettier picture of his recovery in an effort to avoid any backlash they may receive in the future once Lamar Odom is released from Cedars-Sinai.

“People close to [Lamar Odom] believe the Kardashians are completely spinning the story, trying to make it seem like Lamar is better so that when Khloe doesn’t spend as much time with him or let him live with her she won’t get any backlash. It seems like they are all trying to get ahead of the backlash that is ultimately going to come when [Lamar Odom] leaves the hospital.”

While Lamar Odom’s wife, Khloe, withdrew her petition for divorce after he was hospitalized, she is still planning on divorcing her former partner, and on recent episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians Season 11, which is currently airing on Sunday’s at 9 p.m. on the E! Network, she has often been seen discussing the end of their marriage.
