Anna Duggar Divorce: ’19 Kids And Counting’ Star Denies Divorce Rumors, Visits Josh On Christmas Eve

Anna Duggar is opting against divorce, seemingly fighting back against rumors that her marriage is falling apart and speaking out on the latest special of Jill & Jessa: Counting On.

Anna has been embroiled in the back-to-back scandals of her husband, Josh. Earlier this year it was revealed that Josh had molested a number of young girls during his teenage years, a string of incidents that his family had kept from the public.

When the news broke, Anna Duggar announced that she knew of her husband’s indiscretions and had forgiven him.

Then, the second scandal hit. Josh’s name was found on a list of clients for Ashley Madison, a dating website that promotes infidelity. Josh admitted to being unfaithful on Anna and two adult film stars came forward to claim that he had slept with them for money.

While the divorce rumors have been swirling around Josh and Anna Duggar, she is now speaking out and affirming that the marriage will remain intact.

On last week’s episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, Anna confirmed that she was committed to making it work with Josh.

From Fox News has additional details.

“On Sunday night’s TLC special, Anna tearfully tells the cameras about the pain she suffered over his betrayal: ‘When your world is shattered, there are a lot of emotions that you have to walk through and initially it was just crying and crying and crying and then you get to a place where you can’t cry anymore and start to go on with life — and then you start crying all over again.’

“The devoutly Christian wife admits, “I know that there are those who feel I have every right to walk away from this marriage and I respect other people’s views but in my heart, when I got married, I vowed to God first and then to Joshua, ‘for better or worse, ’til death do we part’….”

Now, Anna Duggar is putting the divorce rumors even further behind her. Flight records show that a plane registered to the Duggar family left an airport near their home in Arkansas and landed in Rockford, Illinois, where Josh has been staying at a rehab center.

Anna had hinted about a holiday visit to Josh, who is staying in rehab for several more months after admitting to an addiction to pornography and sex. That means Josh, who has four young children at home, had to spend Christmas Day away from his family.

Deciding not to divorce Josh Duggar did not seem to be an easy decision for Anna. In a preview for the December 27 episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, she broke down when talking about her husband’s betrayal and turned to God for guidance.

“For my heart it was like, ‘How could this happen in our marriage?’ Josh was my first love, he’s my one and only,” Anna told the camera. “But I knew that my only hope was to cling to my faith because I knew if I went off of what I was feeling, I would turn a mess into a disaster. And so I think in the stun and the shock of everything, I was just praying, ‘God help me to know how to respond to all of this.’ I didn’t know what to do, I knew we needed help and I was just praying that God would give the help and the wisdom that we needed to know how to take the next step.”

Viewers who want to see more about Anna Duggar and her decision not to divorce Josh will be able to see more of her interview on this week’s episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which airs Sunday on TLC at 8 p.m.
