A Houston woman was arrested last week after she made a sign to warn oncoming traffic of an approaching speed trap that was claiming numerous victims, reports local affiliate ABC 13.

Natalie Plummer was riding her bike down a busy street when she noticed police officers had set up a speed trap. Seeing the amount of cars that were being targeting by the trap she took it upon herself to save a few motorists from a hefty ticket. However, when officers noticed that she was warning drivers, they quickly approached the woman and arrested her for what they claim was obstruction of justice.

“He was telling me he was taking me to jail for obstructing justice, that was an automatic three to five years,” Plummer said.

After spending over 12 hours in jail, Plummer was instead slapped with a misdemeanor for walking in the street when there was a sidewalk available. Police officers claim that she ”was a danger to herself and others,” according to MSN.

Plummer protests that the charge is bogus and that she never even came close to walking in the street while holding her sign.

“I for sure did not step into the street,” Plummer said. “I stayed on the sidewalk the entire time.”

“I was simply warning citizens of a situation ahead,” adding ”he couldn’t take me to jail for holding up this sign or he would have. So all he could do was make up something fake about it.”
