Bristol Palin Welcomes Baby Girl, Sailor Grace Born Two Days Before Christmas
It looks like Bristol Palin just got the best Christmas present of all this year. She just announced that she has given birth to her baby girl, Sailor Grace, on Wednesday. This is her second child, joining big brother Tripp.
This family of three looked plenty happy in the Instagram photos that the former reality star sent out on Christmas Eve with the birth announcement. Bristol is seen in her hospital bed cuddling up with her newborn daughter right after the birth. She made mention that this baby has made their family complete.
“My sweet Sailor Grace was born yesterday, our family couldn’t be more complete.”
In the sweet second photo, six-year-old Tripp Palin is giving his baby sister lots of love. It looks like he is already living up to his role as Sailor’s big brother. The new mom of two added that her “heart just doubled.”

Bristol had been keeping the world updated on her growing baby bump for the last nine months in frequent photos. Her official due date was on Christmas Eve as she posted just recently, so Sailor came just one day early.
The 25-year-old mom had announced her surprise pregnancy last June in an emotional post on her blog letting everyone know that she was to have her second child out of wedlock once again. She knew the internet would go crazy with her news and issued this statement.
“I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you. But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.”
The daughter of Sarah Palin had some explaining to do and in another post on her blog, she said that this was not an unplanned pregnancy. She was then engaged to be married to Dakota Meyer the month before she announced that she was with child. However, the wedding did not happen. Bristol Palin had apparently planned to get pregnant, even though she was not quite hitched yet. She supposedly figured that she and Meyer were going to have children together and chose to go ahead and start their family ahead of time.
Bristol has been mum about her ex-fiance, but it looks like Meyer is a proud daddy confirming his parenthood as he has sent out a photo of his newborn daughter right after she was born. He is also getting his Christmas gift early.

Of course, the former couple called off the wedding and Bristol is now going to be raising her two kids still on her own as a single parent. Maybe this time she won’t have any custody issues like she has with Tripp’s father, Levi Johnson. Not to be put off by what is said about her or her family, Ms. Palin wrote on her blog that she is going to welcome this baby with open arms.
“I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!”
Of course, being that she is a Palin, Bristol is no stranger to controversy. She is not afraid to talk openly about her faith in God, her views on gun control, or admitting that she is pro-life. Her blog is always full of topics that usually get her in the headlines and the talk of social media. Once she announced that she was expecting her second child out of wedlock, the media had a heyday with it. However, it doesn’t seem to bother her at all.
The Palin family will have reason to celebrate this new addition to their family this holiday season. Grandma Sarah Palin had mentioned in an interview with CBS in November that she was happy that she was getting a little granddaughter, as reported by E! News. She also praised her daughter for being able to single parent Tripp. Now with a second child to raise, her admiration may grow even more.
One thing is for sure, little Sailor Grace is adorable. It looks like Bristol Palin has lots of love to give, but may indeed have her hands full.
