Jill Duggar Dillard And Derick Dillard Reveal Christmas Plans, Fans Think They’re Making Baby Announcement

Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband, Derick Dillard, recently shared a mission trip update with their fans, and it included a little information about their Christmas plans. Jill and Derick revealed that they won’t be coming home for the holidays, and the missionaries shared an Instagram post that confused a few of their fans – at first glance, some of Derick’s Instagram followers thought that his photo was a baby announcement.

In a December 23 blog post on the Dillard Family website, Derick updated fans on how he and Jill Duggar are celebrating the holidays in Guatemala. Derick says that he and his wife managed to find a group of fellow Americans to have an “unexpectedly festive Thanksgiving Day” with last month, but he and Jill Duggar didn’t get to enjoy their first Thanksgiving feast in Guatemala until they were finished with four hours of Spanish class. According to Derick, he and Jill are now looking forward to spending their first Christmas together in Central America.

“As Christmas Day is nearly upon us, we’ve taken advantage of numerous opportunities in multiple venues to share the hope of the Gospel with those we are ministering to,” Derick wrote. “I am glad that we will always be able to look back on our first Christmas with our son, Israel, and remember the goodness of the Lord toward our family as we spent the season together in Central America.”

Jill Duggar’s husband has seemingly been feeling the holiday spirit as of late. According to Yahoo! Parenting, Derick Dillard made his Instagram private a few weeks ago after some of his followers criticized him for saying that he was “babysitting” his own son. However, Derick has since had a change of heart, and he recently decided to be more charitable with his social media posts. On Wednesday, Jill Duggar’s husband shared a photo that made some Duggar fans completely flip out. As you can see, it shows four Christmas stockings hanging on a wall and a banner than reads “Alegría para el Mundo” (“Joy to the World”).

Because there are currently only three members of Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s family, some of Derick’s Instagram followers thought that the couple had just found a clever way to announce that Jill Duggar was pregnant with their second child – they assumed that the smallest stocking in the photo was for an unborn baby.

“They are definitely expecting!!!!” one of Derick’s follower’s wrote.

“Wouldn’t be surprised if this is announcement,” another commented.

However, in the photo’s caption, Derick explains why there’s a fourth stocking on the wall. According to Jill Duggar’s husband, the extra stocking is for the only visitor who will be coming to see them on Christmas Day.

“Excited for our first Christmas as a family of 3!” Derick wrote. “We’re glad to have our friend Rachel visiting for the holidays as well. #centralamericanchristmas #dillardfamilyadventures.”

After reading the caption, some of Derick’s followers called the photo a “tease” and accused Jill and Derick of being a couple of “tricksters.”

Jill Duggar’s fans are likely on baby watch because Jill and Derick hinted that they’re ready for child No. 2 during the latest episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On. However, their next baby might not be a biological one – after visiting an orphanage, Jill and her husband revealed that they’re interesting in adopting a child.

“I can definitely relate to Jessa and Ben’s desire to adopt and we’re definitely considering it,” Derick said, according to the International Business Times.

“Who knows? We came down to Central America as a family of three. We could go home as a family of four,” Jill Duggar chimed in.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar reportedly want to adopt a 20^th child, and Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald told the Jill & Jessa: Counting On cameras that they plan on expanding their family through the adoption process in the near future.

Jessa and Ben actually started talking to an adoption agency in Arkansas before Jessa found out she was pregnant with her son, and the couple even enrolled in adoption classes. The adoption agency told Jessa Duggar and her husband that couples can’t adopt while a mom is pregnant or caring for a newborn, so Jessa said that she and Ben are now waiting until Spurgeon is nine months old before they resume taking classes and filling out adoption paperwork.
