Channing Tatum Gets His ‘Frozen’ On, Takes On Wife In Epic ‘Lip Sync Battle’

If you want to see Channing Tatum challenge his wife, while dressed as Frozen’s Elsa, in what is shaping up to be an epic episode of Lip Sync Battle, set your DVRs for January 7 at 10 p.m.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the popular Spike television show will return for its second season next month, and they’re starting off with something that is sure to be a blast. Not only will the star of the Magic Mike films and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, face off against each other, but Channing appears to be getting really into the event by actually dressing as Elsa from Frozen, as the preview shows. The preview doesn’t give away which song Tatum will be performing, but one can assume it’s the popular hit “Let It Go.”

But if you think Channing Tatum will easily be declared the winner with his Frozen get-up, think again. His wife is also coming to the stage with some serious competition in her mind. Judging from the trailer, Jenna appears to be dressed as her husband’s character from the Magic Mike films. It’s uncertain which song she’ll be lip-syncing, but Entertainment Tonight assumes that it could be Ginuwine’s “Pony,” to which her husband danced in Magic Mike XXL.

The second season premiere will be a one-hour-long episode and will also feature some special guests. While it’s uncertain how many others will appear during the episode, it has been confirmed that Beyonce will make an appearance and will perform her song “Run the World (Girls)” with Channing Tatum.

While Channing has shown that he does have some solid dancing skills, Jenna might win in that department since she does it professionally. The two first met on the set of Step Up, according to the Daily Mirror, which was the first big role for Channing. They started dating shortly afterward and have since gotten married and have a child together.

Despite Channing Tatum having the audacity to walk out in front of a live audience in Frozen cosplay, the 35-year-old actor joked in the preview for the Lip Sync Battle premiere that he’s a little nervous about how the whole thing is going to turn out.

“I just really hope my marriage isn’t over after tonight.”

But Jenna appears to be ready to take her husband on.

“We’re a house divided at the moment. We’re going to war.”

Aside from their upcoming matchup on the competition series, Channing and Jenna are also expecting their second child together. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the couple reportedly announced the pregnancy back in October while at a Halloween party hosted by George Clooney. One source close to the couple said Jenna was telling people at the event that she was not having any alcoholic beverages because of the pregnancy.

Before Channing Tatum shows off his lip-syncing skills in a Frozen costume, you can catch him on the big screen in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming western epic The Hateful Eight, which releases to limited screens on Christmas Day and then expands nationwide on New Year’s Day. Yes, Tatum is appearing in the film, but he hasn’t been seen in the trailers. Up until recently, not very many people knew that he was even in the movie. But, as a separate Inquisitr report indicated, Tatum does have a role in the film.

Who Tatum will be playing is currently being kept a secret, the actor said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. But it’s a role that Tatum wanted really, really badly, and he wanted Tarantino to know how badly he wanted it over anyone else.

“I basically sent about an email a day for about a month just threatening any other actors that might be up for the role. I was just praying that no one really tough was up for the role. I’m so happy that he didn’t say, ‘Well, Mike Tyson is up for this role.'”

When Lip Sync Battle returns, who do you think will be victorious? Will it be Channing Tatum and his Frozen attire, or will it be his wife and her Magic Mike get-up?
