Breaking: Pilot dies on transatlantic flight

Details are scarce at present, but the BBC is reporting that the pilot has died on a Continential Airlines flight bound for New York.

Flight 61 out of Brussels en route to New York is scheduled to make an emergency landing at Newark Liberty Airport. The in-flight death was reported to the FAA at around 10:30 am EST.

Flight 61 is expected to arrive at noon in Newark. The plane, a Boeing 777, is being handled by two co-pilots and is expected to receive priority handling on arrival.

UPDATE:  Flight 61, escorted by emergency vehicles, landed safely at 11:49am at Newark.
