Catelynn Lowell Talks Postpartum Depression: ‘I Felt I’d Be Better Off Dead’

Catelynn Lowell is back on another season of Teen Mom, and she is learning that she has plenty of responsibility now that she is a mother. Catelynn gave birth to her daughter, Novalee, back in January, and she has been enjoying every minute of it. However, Lowell has been keeping a secret from her fans: she’s been struggling with depression. But this postpartum depression didn’t hit her immediately.

Apparently, Catelynn Lowell was fine after the birth of her daughter Novalee, but she started feeling sad about nine months into it. Catelynn really felt sad, and she just wanted to sleep all day. Now, Lowell is opening up about her feelings, and it sounds like she could use this experience to inspire and help other young mothers going through these feelings.

According to a new Radar Online report, Catelynn Lowell is now revealing that she suffered from postpartum depression, and she released that she wasn’t herself after nine months. It is no secret that she really wanted another child that she could keep herself, and she welcomed her second daughter, Novalee, in January of this year. She also got married to Tyler Baltierra in a lavish affair. And yet, she got depressed shortly after.

“I recognized it nine months after Novalee was born,” Catelynn Lowell revealed to fans during a book signing in New York earlier this month, according to Radar Online, adding, “It’s a daily struggle.”

And it sounds like Tyler Baltierra is helping her through this troublesome period in her life, as she is getting support. And fans will get to see some of her struggles on Teen Mom, which airs in January 2016.

“He’s definitely helping me,” Catelynn revealed, adding, “I’m doing much better now.”

And fans are learning of this postpartum depression, as it was featured in the Teen Mom trailer for the new season. It is actually Tyler’s mother who notices that Catelynn Lowell is depressed and staying in bed. Even though this is Lowell’s second child, she did give up her first child for adoption, so she didn’t experience the journey of being a mother after birth.

“Is she going through some kind of post-partum?” Baltierra’s concerned mother asked her son, where the cameras captured Lowell curled up in bed.

This isn’t the first time that Catelynn Lowell has struggled with depression. She has previously struggled with her feelings, and she has been very open and honest about her feelings and her struggles.

“I started having severe panic and anxiety attacks in the middle of the night, which led me into a deep depression,” Catelynn has previously revealed about her depression, according to Radar Online, adding, “I couldn’t stop crying. I felt I’d be better off dead. I needed help.”

Even though Catelynn Lowell has been struggling with depression, she has also struggled with co-star Farrah Abraham. It is no secret that Catelynn and Farrah have butted heads before, but it sounds like things are heating up between them.

“To Farrah, f***ing hoebag… Amen to that b****!” Catelynn Lowell was caught saying in a video on social media, according to Radar Online.

At the time, she was hanging out with Amber Portwood and Maci Bookout and Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry. The two mothers cannot agree on parenting, as Farrah wants her daughter, Sophia, to know that she’s a famous toddler. Lowell may not have the same attitude towards her daughter, as she may keep her child more sheltered.
