Kenny Chesney has hit the No. 1 Billboard Top country Albums chart for the 11th consecutive time with the release of his new album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, which sold 193,000 copies in the first week of its release.

The Boot reports that the total albums sold already makes the new album the 15th best-selling country album of 2012, and beats the records of first-week sales for his past three albums by more than 10,000. The Runner up was Chesney’s 2010 release Hemingway’s Whiskey.

The 44-year-old country artist failed to come close to the top-selling album on the multi-genre Billboard 200. The top spot still goes to Justin Bieber with his Believe album, which sold nearly twice as many copies as Chesney’s record did, leaving the country star to take the No. 2 position with Fishbowl.

Reuters reports that Kenny Chesney stated in a recent interview that:

“I can tell you this album was unlike any other just for the emotional journey I went on to make it. The songs are very personal. Once I heard them all together I realized the thread of searching was there. This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever been as an artist on a record.”

The album includes current singles “Feel Like a Rock Star” and “Come Over.” The album’s title track, “Welcome to the Fishbowl,” talks about trying to live an everyday life, instead of showcasing what a celebrity Chesney has become. Reuters reports that the country star stated:

“I really believe now, more than ever, we’re living in an ever-changing world,” he said. “There’s another song on there, ‘I’m a Small Town,’ which is like where I grew up. Everyone knew everyone else’s business on a small scale inside that town. Today, everyone knows everyone’s business on a global scale and it’s instant. You don’t have to be in the public eye like me to be affected by it. That’s the way we took this song and this phrase.”
