‘Batman V Superman’ Director Zack Snyder Releases Epic ‘Dawn Of Justice’/’Star Wars’ Mashup

Apparently, Zack Snyder is just as excited for the new Star Wars film as any other fan of the iconic franchise. In fact, the director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is so thrilled with the release of Star War: The Force Awakens that he recently shared an epic mashup that most fans could only dream about.

In a series of posts to his Twitter account, Snyder release the first mashup gifs that included characters from both Batman v Superman and the new Star Wars films. In the first gif, Snyder provided fans with a classic stare down between Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne and Darth Vader. “#anticipation Getting excited for Star Wars @bad_robot,” the director wrote alongside his post.

The shot of Affleck staring angrily into space was included in the first trailer, but instead of staring down Darth Vader, Bruce Wayne was looking at his own Batsuit. Clearly, the Darth Vader version won the day.

The first gif mashup was a not all Snyder had in store for fans. The Batman v Superman director went on to post another gif image that featured Henry Cavill’s Superman. In the second gif, Superman is seen flying above a person whose hand is outstretched toward the superhero. At the same time, a pair of fighter jets race past Superman in the sky.

“Stay on Target @bad_robot #anticipation,” Snyder wrote in the second post.

According to Digital Spy, the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens kicked off on December 14 for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. In fact, there were a number of stars present at the premiere, including Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Carrie Fisher, JJ Abrams and, naturally, George Lucas.

Meanwhile, Hollywood’s biggest stars and cast members were not the only ones who showed up at the Hollywood premiere. Also making an appearances were BB-8, C-3PO and R2-D2. Additionally, Joseph Gordon-Levitt strolled onto the red carpet wearing a classic Yoda costume, complete with green face paint and pointy ears.

At the same, Snyder’s recent mashups do not come as a huge surprise for the acclaimed director. In fact, according to Metro, Snyder is a well-known fan of Star Wars and makes no efforts to hide his love for any and all things related to the hit franchise.

That being said, there is not a strong possibility that the Star Wars franchise will be making its way to the DC Extended Universe any time soon, even if it would be Snyder’s dream come true. However, that does not mean that the two franchises would be a disappointment as some sort of crossover event, though naming the movie might prove a little tricky.

While fans should not hold their breath for a future crossover, they are likely to see more mashups from Snyder in the future. In fact, the director’s most recent offerings are not the first time he has mixed his love for two franchises.

A year ago, Snyder posted a picture on social media of R2-D2 walking alongside Batman on some pretty rough landscape. Later, Snyder posted a photo of Cavill wearing a Jedi costume while carrying a lightsaber. Lastly, Snyder released an image of a handcuffed Stormtrooper standing beside the Batmobile, though he never did reveal what the Stormtrooper had done.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is currently out in theaters everywhere, while Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released on March 25, 2016.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman).
