Watch 2015 Miss Universe Pageant Live Online: Start Time, Streaming Video Link For Sunday’s Competition

Viewers can watch the 2015 Miss Universe pageant live online and see who takes home the crown, and whether the event will look any different now that Donald Trump is no longer involved.

The 2014 pageant was marked with controversy when Donald Trump, who ran the Miss Universe franchise at the time, made incendiary remarks about immigrants. This created a backlash that led to NBC cutting ties with the competition.

The controversy eventually led Donald Trump to sell the pageant to WME/IMG, which vowed to make it a bigger and better event.

“Having worked closely with The Miss Universe Organization in the past, we understand the incredible potential of the events and the star-quality of the participants,” Mark Shapiro, chief content officer of WME/IMG, told Variety last year. “The global reach of The Miss Universe Organization and the content opportunities presented by the pageants make this a strong, strategic addition to our portfolio.”

The 2015 Miss Universe pageant will air Sunday at 7 p.m. with coverage on Fox. Viewers will also be able to watch all the action live online (link to streaming video can be found below).

This year’s event looks to be very different, the New York Daily News noted. It has moved over to Fox, which has brought on a new, futuristic set and picked Steve Harvey and actress Roselyn Sanchez to serve as hosts.

“It’s been an interesting, tumultuous year, but I think we’ve emerged in an even better position,” says Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization and producer of the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.

Shugart added that the true appeal of the competition comes from the powerful women who compete.

“For me, it’s about the women,” Shugart said. “This is an organization run by women for women. Of course there’s going to be stereotypical assumptions because it’s a pageant, but these contestants are fearless and confident.”

The pageant also has an interactive tilt this year, with viewers getting to vote for their favorites.

But, even without Donald Trump, the Miss Universe pageant still managed to find controversy last year. The New York Daily News noted the following.

“Lebanon’s government forbids its citizens from having any kind of contact with Israelis because the two nations are technically still at war. In the wake of the news, Miss Lebanon, Saly Greige, claimed that her rival Miss Israel, Doron Matalon, had been chasing her for days before finally ambushing and ‘photobombing’ her in the selfie that sparked outrage in Lebanon and other Arab nations.”

Viewers who watch the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant live online will see more than just swimsuit competitions and big smiles. They will also see performances from Seal, Charlie Puth, and The Band Perry.

As Entertainment Weekly notes, the performance comes after a huge year for Puth, who went from YouTube fame to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for “See You Again,” his hit song with Wiz Khalifa. The song is nominated for three Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year.

The report also details the big year for The Band Perry.

“The Band Perry arrives to Las Vegas ahead of its third LP, Heart + Beat, due in early 2016. The trio of siblings dished on the upcoming record with EW during October’s inaugural EW Fest in New York and singer Kimberly Perry said, ‘We’ve had such a great time [making our new record]. We’re always chasing authenticity, every single album that we put forward.'”
