Epic, the new film from Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios looks set to be a much anticipated new title, if its first trailer is anything to go by.

Beautiful graphics, fantastic music, and what sounds like a witty script are just some of first impressions doing the rounds so far.

Previous working title Leafmen now substituted for the much more – well, epic – Epic, tells the story of a teenage girl who gets transported to a deep forest in a secret universe.

Once there, she meets the indigenous creatures and characters there and bands together with them to save their world and her own, which leads to – you guessed it – an epic battle between the forces of good and evil.

Made by the animation house behind the massive franchise Ice Age and Rio, Epic also features a staggering line-up of stars on voice-over duties.

That roll call includes Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Steven Tyler, Johnny Knoxville, Aziz Ansari, Jason Sudekis, Pitbull, Blake Anderson and Judah Freidlander.

Epic is scheduled to hit theaters May 24, 2013.
