Tennessee resident Nathan Blankenship happens to be a Kenny Chesney look-alike, and a pretty big fan of the country singer–at least enough to want to attend one of his concerts. Unfortunately for Blankenship, he learned that being a Chesney look-alike has its downsides.

Namely, it can get you kicked out of Chesney concerts.

Blankenship was in attendance at Kenny Chesney’s concert in Nashville over the weekend, but he ended up being escorted out of the crowd before he could get to see the country star perform. The reason he was escorted out, he says, was because the security felt he was “creating a disturbance” apparently by looking like Kenny Chesney.

In the end, though, it worked out for the Chesney look-alike. Speaking to Nashville’s ABC 2 News, Blankenship said that Kenny Chesney’s label, Sony Music, reached out to make amends.

“I heard from Sony Music and the concert promoters, and they have told they will be refunding the money I paid for my ticket to the concert. In addition, Sony has said they will be sending me several CDs, which I appreciate,” he said.

Blankenship may be a Chesney look-alike, but he insists that doesn’t mean he’s an impersonator. While he admits that he’s taken pictures with Chesney fans in the past, he says that he has never tried to profit from impersonating the country singer.

“I would like to clear up one possible misconception. I am not now, nor have I ever been a Kenny Chesney impersonator and contrary to several reports, I do not sign autographs, pretend to be him for financial gain, or follow him around from concert to concert.”
