Amal Clooney Divorcing George? The Real Story About The Human Rights Barrister And Her New Scholarship

It’s not a surprising bit of information that George Clooney and super model Cindy Crawford are close friends. The beauty recently dished on a situation that had her nearly naked and in bed with the Oceans 11 star. Reports began to swirl that Clooney’s barrister wife, Amal Clooney, was not impressed in the slightest by Crawford’s comments on the incident. There were even rumors flying recently that Amal is seriously considering divorcing George over it — not only the disclosure by Crawford, but also because of his close bond to the star.

However, the rumors have proven to be untrue after the celebrity rumor policing site, Gossip Cop, investigated the legitimacy of the stories shared by Celebrity Dirty Laundry. Gossip Cop recounts the claim made by the tabloid.

“According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Amal ‘completely freaked out’ after Crawford ‘recently dished about a nearly naked encounter she had with George Clooney.’ The webloid fails to mention that the silly story the model shared is a tale both parties have been humorously telling for years. But the site uses it as an excuse to speculate about the Clooneys’ marriage, and how Crawford may be affecting their union, even asking, ‘Will Amal Alamuddin file for divorce?’ “

The rumor churned out by the tabloid is certainly a stretch, and it makes the humorous situation between two friends into something that it isn’t — a reason for Amal to make an exit. George clearly adores and dotes on his wife endlessly, and they appear to be just as happy in each other’s company as they were on the day they tied the knot, a little over a year ago.

As IB Times notes, 48-year-old Cindy Crawford spares no expense in relaying her own adoration for George’s beautiful wife, Amal Clooney. The publication relays Crawford’s words about Amal.

“Amal is obviously beautiful but she’s the whole package. Now George has this woman that he’s really in love with and she’s smart and engaging.”

Crawford also shared that she loves seeing George with a “real substantial woman,” which Amal clearly is. In addition, she made mention of the fact that hanging out with George and Amal is a total pleasure. She and husband Rande Gerber often double with the Clooneys, and Crawford notes that her favorite moments are when they all hang out together like regular friends and enjoy “quiet moments” together. They surely enjoy a few laughs, as well.

Vogue relays just how substantial of a woman Amal Clooney is by sharing that the human rights barrister is launching a scholarship. The notable publication indicates the details and importance of the initiative launched by Clooney.

“Amal has partnered with 100 Lives — a new global initiative that supports and celebrates the strength of human spirit in the wake of the Armenian Genocide in the early 1900s – to launch an annual scholarship for young women from Lebanon to pursue studies at the United World College Dilijan in Armenia.”

The scholarship will fund one female yearly, to enroll in a two-year baccalaureate program. Candidates are to be chosen based on their “exemplary academic performance and demonstrable interest in the promotion of human rights and international issues.”

Speaking on the matter, Amal shared as to the reasons she initiated the scholarship and the importance of the program.

“This scholarship will give young women from Lebanon the opportunity of a lifetime. Cross-cultural learning and studying abroad can be transformative. I am grateful to 100 Lives for helping to open doors for these bright and talented young women.”

The barrister was born in Beirut, which is why the program hits so close to home for Amal, who has clearly made her way and seeks to help other young Lebanese women do the same.
