‘KUWTK’ Lamar Odom Is Suffering Memory Loss And Can’t Always Remember His Name

Doctors are now saying that they’ve done as much as possible for Lamar Odom, and it’s time for him to move on to a rehabilitation facility or home care. Odom cannot remember loved ones, or his own name, many days. But he has not made the same kind of improvement that at least Khloe Kardashian thought he would have by now. As Kardashian has said that Odom will not be living with her when he is released, she is obligated to find a place for him to go where he will be safe, as he is not mentally aware enough to make his own decisions.

According to the Inquisitr, as of right now, Lamar Odom’s medical drama will be featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but sadly, he doesn’t have the mental abilities to understand this and consent, as Khloe Kardashian is still making all of his decisions. It is a real conflict, and Odom’s family might be considering an actual beneficiary. With all of his medical bills, there is nothing more for Kardashian to take from Odom other than his appearance on KUWTK.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Lamar Odom can’t remember his own name some days, and has trouble recognizing others. He has diminished mental capacity.

“He forgets a lot of people’s names, sometimes even his own. He definitely has some memory loss,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s not doing great. His speech is still slurred and he can barely walk on his own yet,” the source added.

Walking is also an issue for the former NBA player who at almost seven feet tall, needs help walking.

“It’s more his brain is still affected and physically he has to learn how to walk again,” the reality star continued. “And he is learning how to feed himself again. All those normal things we take for granted every day and it’s a really long road and it’s going to take a long time.”

E! Online says that Odom is really struggling, and the more he recovers mentally, the more he realizes how little mobility he has. It will take a very specialized facility to help him regain his ability to walk.

“He has not spoken in the halls during his therapy,” a source tells E! News. “It appears he can’t walk on his own. He has a walker that he does short walks with the aid of therapists… He always is struggling. I saw the other day he got tired after a short session in the walker and had to be transferred back to his wheel chair.”

Khloe Kardashian has been a regular presence at the hospital in Los Angeles where Odom has been since he returned to California after his Nevada overdose. Kardashian has been the only one to make Odom’s medical decisions.

“It’s a horrible call to get,” she admitted. “Getting to the hospital and knowing he’s in a coma and having to run these tests or make medical decisions. It’s terrifying.”

Odom’s prognosis is still unclear, but though his progress has been slow, he is moving forward.

“They think, like, within a year and a half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don’t know.”
