Lamar Odom: Doctors Insist There’s Nothing More They Can Do, Hospital Release War With Khloe Kardashian Begins

Lamar Odom may be released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center very soon, but his discharge from the hospital may only lead to another uphill battle because no one knows where he’ll end up. Although most patients would probably be thrilled about being released from the confines of a hospital, the big announcement isn’t very exhilarating for Lamar Odom.

According to Radar Online, doctors have informed Lamar that there is nothing more the hospital can do to assist with his recovery. For the past couple of weeks, Lamar hasn’t shown vast improvement, and it appears his recovery is at a standstill. An insider close to Lamar has reportedly told Radar that doctors believe it’s time for him to transition from the hospital to another facility, where he can focus solely on physical recovery.

“There really hasn’t been a lot of improvement in Lamar’s overall health and it’s time for him to transition from care at Cedars to another facility that can focus on his physical rehabilitation. Medically, there isn’t anything more that can be done for Lamar at Cedars-Sinai.”

The insider’s claims have yet to be confirmed, but there’s a strong possibility the claims are true since they correlate with Khloe Kardashian’s recent statement about Lamar Odom’s prognosis. On the Today show, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star revealed Lamar has a long road to recovery ahead.

Doctors believe it will take approximately two years for him to make a full recovery. However, it is still difficult to determine if the brain damage he suffered will result in permanent cognitive impairments, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“He is learning how to walk again and learning… cognitive therapy and speech therapy,” she explained. “They think, like, within a year and a half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don’t know.”

However, in addition to the mental and physical recovery battle, Lamar Odom has an immediate problem that will need to be resolved relatively soon. Apparently, he doesn’t exactly have anywhere to go. Although Khloe Kardashian has vowed to remain supportive of him, she’s made it clear that he cannot reside in her home after being discharged from the hospital.

But, that’s not all. His family seems to be running into a number of issues with placing him into a rehabilitation facility because not all facilities can cater to all his medical needs. His family initially hoped he could live in a home in Southern California and receive treatment at home, but due to the extent of his injuries, that option isn’t possible.

“Khloe doesn’t want Lamar to be moved close to her house because she feels that there would be pressure to visit him every day,” the source explained. “And another facility they had considered can’t take Lamar because he is still unable to control his bladder. There will be a very, very long road to Lamar’s recovery and it’s unclear what’s next.”

The latest report about Lamar Odom’s future follows the series of events that led to his brush with death. On October 13, the former NBA star was found unconscious inside a Las Vegas brothel. Almost immediately after he was rushed to Sunrise Hospital, news outlets began reporting that health scare was the result of a drug overdose. Although Khloe and Lamar Odom were finalizing their divorce, she decided to halt the proceedings for the time being as he struggles to recover.
