Beyoncé To Star In Bradley Cooper’s Remake Of ‘A Star Is Born,’ Cooper Claims It Is ‘Just A Rumor’

Rumors are swirling that Beyoncé may be set to team up with Bradley Cooper on an upcoming movie project. According to In Touch Weekly, the singer is all but set to join Cooper in the remake of A Star Is Born. That being said, are the rumors of Beyoncé’s involvement in the movie nothing more than mere speculation?

“Beyoncé is a go,” a source recently told the outlet. “He’s [Cooper] out to find the rest of the cast, but he may take another acting role [in the meantime]. He’s furiously making everything he can.”

Along with Beyoncé’s rumored involvement in the movie, Cooper is thought to be considering directing the remake, which will be the first time the actor has tried his hand behind the cameras. The movie, if it ever comes to fruition, is set to be a remake of the original 1937 film. At the same time, there have been other remakes of the movie, including the 1954 version starring Judy Garland and the 1976 rendition starring Barbra Streisand.

According to Vogue, the movie follows the story of a young woman who is starting out in the entertainment industry and ends up falling for a veteran male actor. As the male character’s career starts to head in a downward spiral, the woman’s career begins to take off.

For her part, Beyoncé is taking up acting lessons in order to prepare herself for a re-entry into the movie industry. Apparently, the 34-year-old mother is interested in dramatic roles that have a certain iconic appeal. If this is true, then a part in the remake of A Star Is Born would certainly fit that criteria.

That being said, despite the rumors that Beyoncé is set to be a part of Cooper’s new film, the actor recently told E! News that there was no truth to the rumors.

“Just a rumor,” Cooper stated. “But with that said, I would be honored obviously with to work with her in any capacity.”

Cooper has been involved with the remake for quite some time now. In fact, it is thought that he was originally slated to star in the movie, which was to be directed by Clint Eastwood. Now, it appears as though Cooper has taken the initiative to direct the film himself, though the casting details remain a mystery.

Speaking of Cooper, the actor has enjoyed a very success career up to this point, both on stage and on the big screens. This includes his success on Broadway in The Elephant Man and his award-winning performance in American Sniper.

However, although Cooper has enjoyed success throughout his career, his most recent films have seen a downward trend. In fact, his part in Burnt, which also starred Sienna Miller, and his role in Aloha with Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams were not a huge success by any means. Furthermore, his upcoming movie, Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence, failed to win him any awards, though Lawrence was given a Golden Globe nomination.

Clearly, Cooper has ambitions to take his talents behind the camera and direct. Whether or not this happens in A Star Is Born is yet to be seen. Even less clear is Beyoncé’s part in the movie, which is now under a lot of question.

Whatever ends up happening with the film, fans are not likely to get answers for quite some time now. The movie is not expected to get underway until later next year or early 2017 at the earliest. Until then, fans should be pleased to know that Beyoncé is trying her best to re-launch her acting career.
