Beyoncé And Bradley Cooper To Star In ‘A Star Is Born’?

Are Beyoncé and Bradley Cooper set to star in the remake of A Star Is Born? Beyoncé has been attached to the project for years, but the last we heard the singer had dropped out of the film.

Well, according to Page Six, Beyoncé is back in there and ready to go. The report says that this remake may be directed by Bradley Cooper, who might also co-star as well.

A source told Page Six that “Beyoncé is a go,” which is curious seeing as Beyoncé had dropped out of the remake that was originally supposed to be directed by Clint Eastwood.

According to the artist, she was looking forward to working with Eastwood before the project fell a part. “I was looking forward to … A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood.

“For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together.”

Weeks prior to Eastwood’s exit, he told the Hollywood Reporter about problems with the film.

“I talked about that for a while with Warner Brothers’ people, and we’re still playing with that idea. But the problem at the beginning [was] they were more infatuated with just the idea of the casting. They were talking about having Beyoncé in it, and she was very popular, but she also is very active and it’s hard to get a time scheduled, so we never could get that worked out.”

Sounds like Eastwood had other projects in mind in addition to A Star Is Born.

When Beyoncé initially dropped, Warner Bros has no initial comment. In addition to scheduling conflict, the Inquisitr reported, Eastwood was also struggling to find a male lead. Bradley Cooper was in the running along with Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, and Johnny Depp.

The last we heard of A Star Is Born was back in March, when word was going around that Cooper might possibly direct the remake. If this remake goes through, this will be Cooper’s directorial debut. Back in September, Cooper told Details, “At some point, I gotta s— or get off the pot,” when it came to making his directorial debut. “Because it’s fleeting, being in a place where you can create content on this level. While I’m here, I’m going to take advantage.”

That said, Cooper added, “I’ve never been a guy who has a five-year plan or even a two-year plan.”

If the film gets greenlit, it wouldn’t be ready to start filming until the end of 2016 or January 2017, so it’s going to be a while before you see Beyoncé and Bradley Cooper up on screen together. This will be the fourth time A Star Is Born will be remade. Other versions have starred Barbra Steisand and Kris Kristofferson, but the most famous one is with Judy Garland.

As far as Beyoncé is concerned, this will be her eighth time on the big screen. Her last time was in the critically panned film Obsessed, which received a 19 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. As it stands, fans are mixed about seeing Beyoncé back on board for A Star Is Born. Some are excited and others are against the film.
