John-David Duggar Says He Doesn’t Want To Be Like Josh Anymore
John-David Duggar is speaking out about his brother Josh’s scandal, and he obviously has lost his role model. People shared what John-David had to say, and you can check it out in the preview above. This clip from Jill & Jessa: Counting On is really sad where John-David and Joseph speak out about it all. Here is how John-David Duggar starts out.
“After everything started to settle down from the first release of stuff in the news about Josh, we got word of a second thing that we had no clue about.”
John-David is talking about when the news came out that Josh had molested a few girls when he was just a teenager. The second news that came out was that Josh Duggar had been using the website Ashley Madison to find women to cheat on his pregnant wife Anna with and it had happened more than once. John-David revealed that they were a lot more shocked to hear the news about the cheating.

Joseph Duggar also shares his thoughts in this preview, and he is totally shocked as well by what his brother Josh did.
“I don’t think there’s any way any of us would have known that my brother was living such a secret life. It broke my heart. Whenever somebody you respect the most is willing to get up and proclaim what we believe as Christians, about being true to your wife, you’d never think that that’s the person who’s involved in it.”
John-David doesn’t want to be a man like his brother and even made sure to tell Josh his feelings on that, which of course had to be hard to do.
“I always wanted to be like him. But one of the toughest things I had to tell my older brother was, I don’t want to be like you anymore.”
John-David Duggar went on to explain that he knows that he is a role model for his younger siblings. Growing up, he wanted to be just like his brother Josh. Now he feels a lot of pressure to make sure he is a great guy so that they are looking up to someone worthy of that job. John-David doesn’t want to be a bad influence on all of the children watching him every single day.

US Magazine shared that John-David and Joseph are not the only Duggar siblings speaking out about Josh’s scandal. Jinger Duggar says that they still love Josh, but this has caused the family a lot of pain. He is not the person that they thought he was since they have heard this news. The entire family has been shocked by this scandal from Josh, who is still in rehab getting help. Jinger explained how she was feeling during this hard time.
“When my mom told us about this, we were just so overwhelmed and so grieved about what had happened. It’s just like this person that we knew is no longer the same person. So we just stopped and prayed and asked God to help us get through it. It’s hard to know what to do.”
