Snoop Dogg’s Son, Cordell Broadus, Offered Football Scholarship By UCLA?

ESPN is reporting that Cordell Broadus, the son of rapper Snoop Dogg, has recently been offered a scholarship to play football at UCLA.

Although Broadus just wrapped up his freshman year at Diamond Bar High School in California, coaches at UCLA figured it best to go after the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back/receiver early before other schools had the opportunity to sway the youngster.

While Diamond Bar High is no stranger to pro-caliber athletes (New Orleans Saints safety Jonathan Amaya, New England Patriots safety Bret Lockett, and Patriots center Ryan Wendell all graduated from the school), head football coach Ryan Maine told ESPN that Broadus is a born leader.

“We’re expecting him to really lead us the next three years,” Maine said recently. “Hopefully [our athletes] get bigger, stronger and keep leading this team.”

Broadus isn’t the only high-profile recruit to receive attention from the UCLA football program. Justin Combs, son of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, commited to playing football for the Bruins last November.

“Playing Division I football was a lifelong dream of mine, and through hard work I was able to achieve it,” Justin Combs said in a statement earlier this year.
