Omarion Tweets About Grammys Snub As He Gets Fired From ‘Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’

Omarion is having a tough week. Not only did he get snubbed by the Grammy Awards, but he’s also no longer starring on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood.

Let’s talk about the reason that the singer is making headlines. Omarion recently took to Twitter to express his outrage over being snubbed at the 2016 Grammys. His hit song, “Post to Be,” featuring Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko, failed to receive a Grammy nomination during Monday morning’s announcement on CBS. He took to Twitter to express his frustration.

Omarion was hardly topping the music charts long before his musical collaboration was released. According to USA Today, his last single “Ice Box,” was released in 2006. “Post to Be” was Omarion’s second-highest-charting single of his entire music career. It also marked a big comeback for the singer, who hasn’t released an album in five years.

Omarion continued to express his outrage over the Grammy nominations. In a series of tweets, he explained why his collaboration should have been acknowledged by the music academy.

But the singer insists that he’s not too upset over the diss. In fact, he’s using this moment to better himself as an artist.

But then Omarion asked his fans to name other nominated songs that didn’t feature a rapper. He then shared the music video of “Post to Be,” which now has over 300 million views – and counting.

When social media mocked Omarion over his tweets, he simply responded: “they laughed at Jesus.”

In case you were wondering, Omarion was snubbed by the category for Best R&B Performance. The nominees for that category are Miguel for “Coffee,” The Weeknd for “Earned It” (Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack), Jazmine Sullivan “Let It Burn,” D’Angelo and The Vanguard “Really Love,” and Tyrese for “Shame.”

At least Omarion doesn’t have to feel too bad about his Grammy diss. Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, Madonna, and Prince also failed to score some big nominations this year, despite releasing new music.

But now he has something else to worry about. The singer has been reportedly fired from Love & Hip Hop Hollywood. The reports have been conflicting thus far. Both Omarion and his longtime girlfriend have responded to the rumors claiming they were fired from the VH1 reality show. According to him and Apryl Jones, the couple won’t be back on the show because they quit the show to focus on their careers and their family.

As previously reported, the couple caused the rumors to swirl when they were seen missing from the LHHH Season 2 reunion special. Apryl finally quashed the rumors when she confirmed that both her and Omarion won’t be back for Season 3 during her recent interview with ESSENCE Live.

“We didn’t go to the reunion because Omari was on tour and I was with him with our child. But umm, we are NOT going to do next season.”

Jones then addressed the reality TV curse that has split up many famous couples. She said that her relationship with Omarion has been stronger than ever.

“We have a strong bond. We just knew coming to reality TV we just knew nothing was going to change that. We’ve never been worried about the ‘show curse’ because when we walked into Love & Hip Hop filming knowing what we were prepared for. They had a lot of respect for me and Omari so we weren’t really worried about that. We knew we would be ok walking in and walking out.”

Omarion and Apryl received a lot of camera time on Season 1, when Apryl was seen clashing with Omarion’s mother. But the couple didn’t receive as much air time on Season 2, causing some fans to wonder if they’ve been fired from the show. Omarion also claims that those rumors aren’t true.

The R&B singer responded to the rumors after Power 105.1 radio tweeted: “We’re gonna miss them. @1Omarion and @Apryl won’t return to #LHHH – Quit or fired?”

In true Omarion style, he tweeted: “@Power1051 knock it off. Fired?!” He followed up his tweet with several laughing emojis.

At least the singer can now focus on his music career, so that he can get that well-deserved Grammy nomination the next time around. Are you sad over the news that Apryl and Omarion have quit Love & Hip Hop Hollywood? Sound off below in the comments section.
