Jill Duggar Regrets Defending Her Brother’s ‘Mild’ Sexual Molestation

Jill Duggar is seemingly having second thoughts about her decision to defend older brother Josh Duggar after he admitted to sexually molesting young girls as a teenager. Jill was willing to stand up for Josh when the world found out a dark secret about him that she already knew, but after she found out that her brother was hiding another sex-related secret from his entire family, she seemingly turned on him. In a new Jill & Jessa: Counting On clip, Jill Duggar slams her brother for allowing his victims to defend him when he wasn’t deserving of their support.

This summer, Jessa and Jill Duggar appeared on Fox News Channel’s The Kelly File to talk about Josh’s sexual molestation scandal. The girls revealed that they were two of Josh’s four victims, and they tried to play down what their brother did to them. Jessa did most of the damage control, with Jill Duggar’s main defense of her older brother being a suggestion that what he did wasn’t so bad because she and Jessa weren’t aware that their brother was fondling them. According to police reports obtained by In Touch Weekly, Josh molested a few of his victims while they were sleeping.

“We didn’t even know about it until he went and confessed it to my parents and they shared it with us,” Jill Duggar told Megyn Kelly. “In our case, it’s very mild compared to what happens to some young women.”

Jill went on to say that she was “sad” and “shocked” when she found out about what her brother was doing to her, but she decided to forgive Josh. However, now it looks like she’s having a hard time forgiving her brother for making her endure that painful Megyn Kelly interview. Josh stayed in hiding while his sisters stood up for him, and he repaid their efforts with another scandal. This one really blindsided the family because they had no idea that Josh was cheating on his wife of seven years, Anna Duggar.

At the time, the Megyn Kelly interview took place, 19 Kids and Counting hadn’t been cancelled, so it’s possible that Jessa and Jill Duggar thought that they could save their family’s show by defending Josh. As Starpulse points out, Jill has seemingly changed tactics — now she’s trying to get viewers to tune into her family’s new special, Jill & Jessa: Counting On, by turning against Josh.

Jill Duggar expresses her anger with her brother in a new Jill & Jessa: Counting On preview that debuted during Wednesday’s episode of Good Morning America.

“It wasn’t right for him to let us speak our words without having the full knowledge of what he was hiding,” a Jill Duggar says in the video below.

Jill also reveals that she has shed “a lot of tears” in the wake of her brother’s scandals, and she feels “angry and hurt.”

During the Megyn Kelly interview, Jessa and Jill Duggar were seemingly angrier about In Touch Weekly publishing the police reports than they were about what their brother did to them. Jill accused the tabloid of having an “agenda” and “exploiting women,” and Jessa said that the company that publishes the magazine, Bauer Publishing, is a “major porn provider.” A few weeks later, Josh would claim that he was suffering from an addiction to pornography. He included this claim in the cheating confession that he posted on the Duggar Family website.

Jill and Jessa only know that their brother cheated on Anna Duggar because Gawker discovered that he had a paid account on the Ashley Madison website, and this discovery forced him to admit to having an extramarital affair. So far, no member of the Duggar family has complained about the Ashley Madison hack that made this discovery possible.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jill Duggar has been dealing with another scandal that doesn’t involve her brother. She and her husband, Derick Dillard, left on a long-term mission trip to Central America earlier this year, and some critics have described their stay as a glorified vacation. The couple was criticized for asking for donations from fans instead of using their Jill & Jessa: Counting On paycheck to fund the mission trip, and they’ve also been accused of trying to convert the local Catholics to the Duggars’ preferred brand of fundamentalist Christianity.

Are you surprised that Jill Duggar has changed her tune about her brother?
